I dont know if I'm being silly but I have tried everything to get tickets, live close to london and willing to travel. Didn't even get on the wait list... Just heartbreaking as my daughter literally learnt to play the guitar (self taught) has every album and the infamous cardigan, t shirts ets. Just gutted as all we ever listen to in the blooming car is TS. It would have been awesome lifetime memories /core memory. Sad.

You and your daughter ABU to fixate on a celebrity who doesn’t know you exist. YABU as a parent to mollycoddle your daughter’s disappointment; put the energy into something positive/ constructive like improving her guitar.

Set up a Twickets alert if you haven't already. You need to be checking every 30 mins and refreshing the page. There were two standing earlier for tonight and they were £100 ish. They do come up but everyone is looking for them so you need to be quick and have you card at the ready.

@Sankhomumof3 Julien Baker is doing 5 nights in London in November. Tickets just went on sale and are selling fast.

She's an awesome artist and one third of Boygenius.

2 tickets for £70. Bargain at twice the price.

I hate the screaming and crying and sometimes fainting of [usually] teenage girls at concerts. Can really ruin the vibe.
That is one of the reasons The Beatles stopped doing live concerts as well as poor sound equipment.

Also quite young kids getting really upset and overwhelmed with the noise level. Anyone bringing young kids bring ear plugs as a just in case. It can be very distressing for a child if it is too noisy

Sorry to jump on this thread but I am desperate for tickets for my daughter. She has been in hospital on and off for the last 2 years and is finally well enough to go. I don't have a code, can you still get them on ticketmaster/axs without a code? If not where is the best place to buy them? I keep looking on viagogo but don't really have £700 + per ticket!

Take them to a different gig - go and see lots of live music with different artists who aren’t charging £800 a ticket. Take them to festivals with tons of artists and where it’s an experience they will remember!

I worked in the music industry touring myself (I am not anyone on the stage!)

I cannot believe she charges £800 a ticket?£? That’s outrageous and didnt ever happen when I was working.

artists make the most from tours but that’s terrible. My kids wanted to go but at almost £3000 there’s no way!

2ndMrsdeWinter · 21/06/2024 17:55

@Sankhomumof3 if they have every album then you should have been able to get tickets no problem? Purchasing Midnights album meant you got a presale code - was pretty easy and they were only £90 each.

Livelaughlurgy · 21/06/2024 17:56

She toured internationally in 2015, 2018 and was due again in 2020 before Covid hit, so it's not unreasonable to think that she'll tour again.

Therapy4all · 21/06/2024 17:02

I think there has been some clever marketing

Making the tickets seem to scarce and only being able to buy with a code has made people a little crazy

This, they've made it out to be a rare once in a lifetime experience that only a small number of very special people will get.

She will tour again. It's her dayjob.

She doesn't charge £800. That is resellers. I got the best seated tickets in Cardiff a year ago for £160.

ohsohopeful · 21/06/2024 18:02

Twickets has 2 for just over £170 for tomorrow night, you do have to be quick though and check every half an hour or so for new ones. Good luck!

Does it really cost £800 to go to one of these concerts? 😳

My god, that's insane! And the whole tour is sold out? No wonder TS is a billionaire!

Shityshitybangbang · 21/06/2024 18:06

Watch out for the scammers on fb, they are everywhere. My cousin got her account hacked the other day. All her friends thought she was selling 4 tickets for 150 quid each for the London concert. She wasn’t.

Its the different levels of tickets, plus packages etc

greencartbluecart · 21/06/2024 18:08

No it doesn't cost £800 unless you end up in the hands of a reseller - I think ours were 70

Even the wierd packages sold by the venues weren't that expensive

Become a Rammstein fan and camp in a field.

mids2019 · 21/06/2024 18:08

I think a lot of the ticket desperation is due to a bit of a fear Miss Swift will wish to start a family in the near future and this delay will cause many girls who wish to see her think that may have to wait some time before she tours again.

Taylor Swift is a master of marketing and there is definitely a see her now as it may be the last four vibe......maybe a reason for the hysteria ?

BlueSoul · 21/06/2024 18:14

This won't be her last tour, all is not lost. Just try and go next time.

Screamingabdabz · 21/06/2024 18:16

LonginesPrime · 21/06/2024 17:17

I just had to look it up - apparently it's a fictional concept from the Pixar movie Inside Out.

OP, I wouldn't worry about 'core memories' too much - my (now adult) DC can barely recall any of the once-in-a-lifetime moments I worked hard to engineer for them, but instead fondly remember all sorts of silly little things that randomly happened over the years.

So true!!

My daughter has tickets for that, she has seen Phoebe Bridgers and Boygenius as well.

She has also just bought tickets tonight for Gracie Abrams at a local indie record shop gig £12 for a ticket. Admittedly they sold out in an instant.

Brainstorm23 · 21/06/2024 18:24

@Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky I have seen Julien Baker in Glasgow and Boygenius in Dublin. Not at the Taylor Swift level yet and I don't think they'd want to be. Phoebe is next on my list.

I don't think Julien has a new album due so I can't justify the cost of flights and accommodation from NI.

CissOff · 21/06/2024 18:24

Don’t lose heart - we got tickets on the day from TicketMaster for Cardiff, this week. We hadn’t had a code until the night before when it landed in DD’s inbox. We paid £125 per ticket direct from TM and it came to just under £300 with some bullshit ‘restricted view’ fee I’ve never heard of 🙄

It was a huge rush getting ready - I bought them at 1.30ish and they were in the Stadium by 4.30!

BlowDryRat · 21/06/2024 18:24

YANBU to be disappointed. Lots of fans are in the same boat.

Don't lose all hope though. Ticketmaster emailed me a code yesterday and I got 4 tickets for this weekend at £58 each. There's still the August run at Wembley to come and you might well get a code.
