I dont know if I'm being silly but I have tried everything to get tickets, live close to london and willing to travel. Didn't even get on the wait list... Just heartbreaking as my daughter literally learnt to play the guitar (self taught) has every album and the infamous cardigan, t shirts ets. Just gutted as all we ever listen to in the blooming car is TS. It would have been awesome lifetime memories /core memory. Sad.

This core memory stuff - there have been lots of special moments that I thought I'd never forget and tbh I can't remember much about them now. And then some really random and simple moments that are for some reason engrained on my brain.

I saw Taylor Swift for free in a park ten years ago and that memory is quite hazy! But I understand how disappointed your daughter is and I hope you get a ticket nearer the time.

Liv999 · 21/06/2024 16:53

I'm in the same boat, myself and my 10 year old daughter are huge fans, her even more so than me, she knows every lyric of every song of every album, she's been watching Taylors concerts live every night on her tablet from whatever city she's in, she talks about her non stop..we're in Ireland and she's doing 3 nights here next week, not a hope of getting tickets at this stage, we've tried everything, entered every competition going, almost got scammed twice, I know life is full of disappointments and it's only a concert but I know how you feel...

Take them to a different gig - go and see lots of live music with different artists who aren’t charging £800 a ticket. Take them to festivals with tons of artists and where it’s an experience they will remember!

She isn't charging £800 a ticket. Shameless touts are. My tickets were £95 at initial release.

Foxesandsquirrels · 21/06/2024 16:54

Gosh this is all a bit much. I don't believe she's suddenly got this many fans. Last time she was on tour she was so unpopular her PR were handing out tickets to companies in London. I took DD to Wembley to see her for free and got amazing seats. A lot of the stadium was still empty!

As well, for the 'life is full of disappointments' brigade, that is all very well, but people have had to endure a lot in the way of stress and disappointment over the past few years. Covid, plus the rise in the cost of living, plus politicans who seem to care only for enriching themselves and their cronies, mean that normal people deserve a few pleasures and treats. It annoys me more and more that rich people swan about on private jets and yachts and lecture the plebs about the environment, and we just police each other instead of demanding more.

FuckTheClubUp · 21/06/2024 16:58

Is this the first time Taylor Swift has come to the UK or something? Surely, she’ll come back to the UK in your daughters lifetime? So many threads about Taylor Swift so I feel like I must be missing something here!

Feelsodrained · 21/06/2024 16:59

Are you hoping someone will be like “oh I didn’t realise you were a FAN. And you’ve got KIDS who are FANS too? And you will make MEMORIES? Oh okay then here are lots of free tickets”?

Everyone who goes to these overpriced concerts is also a super fan of her bland mainstream pop music. You and your kids are hardly unique.

Theredjellybean · 21/06/2024 17:00

@Peekachewy ...I've trawled axs...there are no tickets for any dates
I've trawled twickets...there is one hospitality ticket at 750 pounds

I agree OP...it's disappointing..and so many people seem to get tickets last minute...I don't know how they are doing it 😔

Any tips...my dsd missed out going to Liverpool as she was unwell. I'd love to get her tickets for London.

But I will say getting the original tickets was like a military operation. We had one code and four of us logging onto every opening of sales and we went for Liverpool even though we live in London as it was first chance of tickets so we grabbed it.

I guess with resale you have to be as organized

Theredjellybean · 21/06/2024 17:02

@No3387 ..what Facebook groups?? The ones I've tried are full of scams

pinkwaterbottle9 · 21/06/2024 17:02

She'll tour again

I think there has been some clever marketing

Making the tickets seem to scarce and only being able to buy with a code has made people a little crazy

Same happened in Dublin local school to me were given loads of free tickets the morning of the gig because it didn't sell as well as they expected. They over shot it and did too many nights

TooLateForRoses · 21/06/2024 17:06

There's been a fair few of these posts. Are people expecting someone to go oh! Yes! Your CHILD MUST GO - have my ticket!

Dulra · 21/06/2024 17:08

I was at Pink last night and she absolutely blew me away one of the best gigs I've ever been at and I have been to loads. Taylor plays same venue next week and I don't believe she'll be able to match pinks energy and atmosphere. Not sure if Pink has done UK yet but if she hasn't I'd recommend going you won't be disappointed

PuttingDownRoots · 21/06/2024 17:08

I don't get the hype about TS. DH was shocked to find his boss was paying more for a single ticket (and he needed 4!) To take his daughters to one of the London concerts than he was paying to go to a Music festival for a week in Belgium...

But there is something magical about seeing an artist you enjoy live and being with other fans while you do so. So you are not being unreasonable to be disappointed

Depends on whether you like Pink or not, though, doesn't it? (I don't, I respect her as a person and as an artist but I don't actually care for her music) It isn't much point telling someone disappointed about TS to go to see someone completely different. That's like telling someone to go to an Iron Maiden show because they couldn't get tickets to Roxy Music.

HandsDown84 · 21/06/2024 17:10

She'll tour again but not a 3-hour show doing 45 songs from about 10 albums. Her next one (when that comes, she's not toured for years) will probably be back to smaller-scale, one album touring.

I think she'll take a break after 2 years of this one, personally.

DD saw Pink in London a few years ago 😊

Wtf is core memory?? Is it the new "making memories". Which I also happen to detest 😕

True, I'm not a pink fan got a free ticket and I was blown away, some live music acts regardless of who it is just really work. I'm not suggesting it's a substitute for Taylor just suggesting that there are other amazing live music options out there to make great "core" memories with if you've lost out on Taylor

It's from 'inside out' a Disney film

The core memories shape you as person, good and bad. It's a good film, worth a watch.
But I don't like the popularisation of the use of the term to just mean anything fun.

I just had to look it up - apparently it's a fictional concept from the Pixar movie Inside Out.

OP, I wouldn't worry about 'core memories' too much - my (now adult) DC can barely recall any of the once-in-a-lifetime moments I worked hard to engineer for them, but instead fondly remember all sorts of silly little things that randomly happened over the years.

No its an actual thing

My friend got two tickets yesterday for Sunday - £80 each through Ticketmaster.

There's still hope for you, op. Don't give up if it means a lot to you.
