I dont know if I'm being silly but I have tried everything to get tickets, live close to london and willing to travel. Didn't even get on the wait list... Just heartbreaking as my daughter literally learnt to play the guitar (self taught) has every album and the infamous cardigan, t shirts ets. Just gutted as all we ever listen to in the blooming car is TS. It would have been awesome lifetime memories /core memory. Sad.

She'll tour again

Unlikely she will on anything like this scale. She’s coming up to 35, and has talked about wanting to marry and have babies. No way is she going to spend another 2 years going round the globe doing a 3.5 hour concert. This was a once in a lifetime thing for her too.

There are tickets being released all the time

Die hard fans are signed up to discord and Facebook groups waiting for them to go live

I've heard lots of people have been getting them the week before and even on the day

But YABU with all the 'core memory' crap.

Damn!! People don't like the core memory phrase. Lol. Point noted. I find it easier then saying "somthing we'll always remember". Its just faster to type "core memory". But I get it, sounds pretentious as f#@k!! 😅

DD got a £60 ticket the day before the concert. You might get lucky.

Also, she had a great time but it's only a concert at the end of the day. Not a life changing event.

Yes, I know. But we all feel gutted somtimes over things that are not life changing. Like missing a bus... Not end of world... Still annoying though. But appreciate you replying with a good old reality check. Xx

VIP tickets were up to around £800 per person, depending upon the package you bought. Most people paid a lot less.

Please only get resale tickets through safe sites like Twickets, Ticketmaster and AXS. Don't buy from individuals offering them for sale, unless you know & trust them. Never buy from FB or strangers on MN.

As for all this making memories crap, Taylor is huge this year due to all the hype. Next year they will all be desperate to see someone else. I did go in 2018 though & she was great. Tomorrow I'm at the Foo Fighters instead.

You'll have a great time at Foo Fighters. I saw them earlier this year here in NZ. Wasn't really a big fan before but took my 12 years old DD who wanted to go. We got standing tickets and had a great time. Her first gig. Got to see The Breeders and Dick Move (aussie band) as support acts.

David Grohl was great and really worked the crowd.

Next gig we're is Thom Yorke in October.

Kinneddar · 21/06/2024 16:28

Unfortunately you're no different to tens of thousands of other people who couldn't get tickets.

Use the money you would have spent on tickets to go away for a few days or go some days out and get 'core memories' that way

We do other things together. But we are TS fans. It's hard to understand if you're not a fan of a particular musician or hobby. Its like telling someone who loves apples to eat an orange because its still food. It is food, but it's not the same. Ok I'm waffling now because I'm exhausted. Sorry xx

Were Australia so not sure if it’s different there but we had friends who missed out , my girls were lucky and got tickets but we met her down there as we got them some merchandise and her son made a sign and they both got free tickets very last minute as someone had friends that couldn’t make it. Totally random and not the best seats but they didn’t care. Plus they had so many people sitting outside that missed out and looked like they had a great time.

Not sure I’d pay £800 even if Bowie came back from the dead!

Not going to spend £800 lol. Don't have that kinda money. If I did, I would have got tickets by now, because thst type of price range did come up. Out of my budget though.

This core memory stuff - there have been lots of special moments that I thought I'd never forget and tbh I can't remember much about them now. And then some really random and simple moments that are for some reason engrained on my brain.

I saw Taylor Swift for free in a park ten years ago and that memory is quite hazy! But I understand how disappointed your daughter is and I hope you get a ticket nearer the time.

Thank you 🙏 that was kind xx (why am I adding xx at the end of my replues) ?? I need sleep lol.

I'm in the same boat, myself and my 10 year old daughter are huge fans, her even more so than me, she knows every lyric of every song of every album, she's been watching Taylors concerts live every night on her tablet from whatever city she's in, she talks about her non stop..we're in Ireland and she's doing 3 nights here next week, not a hope of getting tickets at this stage, we've tried everything, entered every competition going, almost got scammed twice, I know life is full of disappointments and it's only a concert but I know how you feel...

Thank you for sharing. I could have written that message. I hope you manage to get some tickets. It is hard for people to understand. I guess it's one of those "if you know, you know" situations.

OP posts:
ImPunbelievable · 22/06/2024 00:14

You don't need to spend £800 op don't worry, not sure why people think that's the cost of most tickets - maybe some vip/scalped ones!!

There's £60 tickets being released before the kids for any odd tickets left. I paid £150 for my amazing front standing ones and sold one of them for that just a view days ago - hold out hope!!

Sankhomumof3 · 22/06/2024 00:15

MsLuxLisbon · 21/06/2024 16:57

As well, for the 'life is full of disappointments' brigade, that is all very well, but people have had to endure a lot in the way of stress and disappointment over the past few years. Covid, plus the rise in the cost of living, plus politicans who seem to care only for enriching themselves and their cronies, mean that normal people deserve a few pleasures and treats. It annoys me more and more that rich people swan about on private jets and yachts and lecture the plebs about the environment, and we just police each other instead of demanding more.

This. 🙏

Join Facebook groups and the discord chats and they'll alert you when they go live

Whats a discord group? I'll look into this. Thank you.

Are you hoping someone will be like “oh I didn’t realise you were a FAN. And you’ve got KIDS who are FANS too? And you will make MEMORIES? Oh okay then here are lots of free tickets”?

Everyone who goes to these overpriced concerts is also a super fan of her bland mainstream pop music. You and your kids are hardly unique.

Wow, you are just a bundle of joy! But.... if someone feels like offering me tickets after reading my post the way you interpret it, I'm not going to refuse!! Can't blame me for trying!

@Peekachewy ...I've trawled axs...there are no tickets for any dates
I've trawled twickets...there is one hospitality ticket at 750 pounds

I agree OP...it's disappointing..and so many people seem to get tickets last minute...I don't know how they are doing it 😔

Any tips...my dsd missed out going to Liverpool as she was unwell. I'd love to get her tickets for London.

But I will say getting the original tickets was like a military operation. We had one code and four of us logging onto every opening of sales and we went for Liverpool even though we live in London as it was first chance of tickets so we grabbed it.

I guess with resale you have to be as organized

Yes, it's ridiculous to the point I may just go off Taylor swift. It's not even her fault, she's done vast numbers of dates. But it's so.... Infuriatingly hard to get tickets. Especially if you can't keep checking your phone all day. We all know she won't do anything as big as this again so that's why everyone is snapping them up.

You and your daughter ABU to fixate on a celebrity who doesn’t know you exist. YABU as a parent to mollycoddle your daughter’s disappointment; put the energy into something positive/ constructive like improving her guitar.

Its just fun. Its nice to have fun somtimes. I wanted to take her because she is well behaved and polite because I don't mollycoddle her. She's perfectly understanding when I say no to most things. Wanting to take her to the concert of a musician who inspired her to learn guitar is somthing I'd love to do. Bit harsh!

Set up a Twickets alert if you haven't already. You need to be checking every 30 mins and refreshing the page. There were two standing earlier for tonight and they were £100 ish. They do come up but everyone is looking for them so you need to be quick and have you card at the ready.

Thank you

I'm actually a huge fan and tried desperately to get tickets for the Edinburgh shows to take my nieces. We tried right up til the day of the show so yes I do know the disappointment but also know there are tens of thousands similarly disappointed fans

Yes its a term that has been used in the field of Psychology for many years, evenin my testbooks when I was studying a level psychology 25plus years ago. It is also used in IT for RAM and other database storage.
It doesn't feel wierd to me because of that. When we cut open and study brains in Histopathology we try and identity these areas of the brain somtimes. We still don't know much about the exact capacity of the brains storage and whether core memories are erased or just stored for whatever use. But yes, recently in vogue again due to Inside Out. But they did a great job!! I want to watch part 2!

We have taken our children to so many concerts over the years. Springsteen, Take That, Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters to name a few and we’re going to see Pink for the 8th time next week. We’re massive Springsteen fans and we have travelled world wide to see him.

Our children have basically grown up with Taylor Swift just like we did with Springsteen. What I don’t understand is true Swift fans pre order anything artists like her release so why didn’t you pre order her Midnight album? You’d have got codes if you’d pre ordered and got the pre ticket sales. We follow so many bands we love we always know about pre orders and pre ticket sales. The amount of moaning and bitching about not getting tickets is mind boggling. If you truly love an artist you’d know about the pre ticket sales.

Theres been a lot of hype about Taylor Swift and I do think it a case of “oh Jemima is going so my child needs to go” It’s a bit like keeping up with the Joneses in some cases.

Sorry to jump on this thread but I am desperate for tickets for my daughter. She has been in hospital on and off for the last 2 years and is finally well enough to go. I don't have a code, can you still get them on ticketmaster/axs without a code? If not where is the best place to buy them? I keep looking on viagogo but don't really have £700 + per ticket!

Hope you get some tickets. Wishing your daughter well.

@Sankhomumof3 if they have every album then you should have been able to get tickets no problem? Purchasing Midnights album meant you got a presale code - was pretty easy and they were only £90 each.

We bought from hmv. I'm too old and didn't know this. Would her midnights album have a code inside? Where?

Watch out for the scammers on fb, they are everywhere. My cousin got her account hacked the other day. All her friends thought she was selling 4 tickets for 150 quid each for the London concert. She wasn’t.

Yes, we had a dodgy experience on fb. Spotted the scam and blocked. Keeping away from thst type of dodgy thing now.
