For being upset at what DP said to his friend?

DP is asleep on the sofa and his phone was next to me charged up. He kept getting messages from his best friend, like one every second saying “reply quick” so I went onto the messages to see if it was anything serious so I could tell DP.

Long story short I’ve just read a conversation that went like this.

His friend “how was Amsterdam, did you go to the red light district” (we went amsterdam last week week)
DP “yeah there were so many fit birds there”
His friend “There is isn’t there🤣”
DP “yeah I’m so glad I went with (my name) otherwise I’d be skint🤣”

Ive come upstairs because I am fuming. He’s still asleep downstairs and I know when I mention it to him he will say he was joking. But would anyone else take it as a joke? Am I over thinking and just put it down to lads having “banter”

Ah yea, poor prostitutes. Prostitution is fully legal in Amsterdam. Women are authonomous human beings with presumably brains they can use, so if they choose suck dick for money instead of working at the local KFC, that's their prerogative. Not going to split hairs over it, whatsoever. Sick and tired at women portrayed as poor brainless victims at every opportunity. As for the message, it's crude, but probably a joke.

It’s disrespectful of you. He is demeaning you to his friends, I’m guess this is not the first time he has said stuff like this. I’d tell him what you have seen and tell him how angry it has made you - don’t let him change it to you looking at his phone, you can have that argument later.
i have a very low tolerance for this kind of ‘ banter’ but I know a lot of women are prepared to tolerate it. You need to work out where you are setting your boundaries.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city. I've been there many times. I've only once been in the red light area because I was late for an appointment and it was shorter to go through it than round it.

The red light district is one very small part of Amsterdam that is not difficult to avoid. It is a lovely city to visit with many love streets to walk, restaurants to eat at, museums to peruse.

He’s made comments, joking or not. About cheating on you with a prostitute. Do you think he would?

That is vile and would honestly be a relationship ender for me. The fact that lots of people seem to be saying it is normal 'lad stuff' is sad. He sounds disgusting. Banter is the first step on a really dark ladder.
