I have just been listening to his speech at Clacton today about DDay and patriotism and it's all hot air and bluster and nonsense and honestly WHO COULD POSSIBLY VOTE FOR THIS IGNORANT CLOWN?!?

OK but seriously anyone who is tempted, please tell me. I genuinely cannot understand it.

Typo in thread title edited by MNHQ to make it clear the thread is about Farage, not a garage

OP posts:
WishIWasYourSexyBacon · 04/06/2024 17:49

I thought this was going to be a thread about a car mechanic or the neighbours garage in a poorly state of repair affecting your own.

I assume you mean Farage. In which case YANBU.

Pumpkintopf · 04/06/2024 17:50

I also was thinking we would have a thread over whether a house with a garage was worthwhile.

Don't disagree with your actual thread though op.

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 04/06/2024 17:52

I've asked MNHQ to edit the title

Churchview · 04/06/2024 18:03

An ignorant clown won the last general election.

custardlover · 04/06/2024 19:03

Thank you for the typo correction - my incredulity meant I ignored the autocorrect.

But god god WHY

OP posts:
JimmyGrimble · 04/06/2024 19:04

He’s proper scum

Anxiousheartbeat · 04/06/2024 19:05

I don’t care for Nigel Farage but the woman who threw a milk shake at him should be held accountable. It’s not acceptable to behave like that.

custardlover · 04/06/2024 19:05

It makes me sad for the people he takes in - he doesn't care about Clacton or the UK; he is a self-aggrandising pompous buffoon who us in contempt like his idol T.

Anyway. You can tell I feel strongly about it.

OP posts:
custardlover · 04/06/2024 19:07

He really should be help accountable for the Brexit campaign lies. I care more about that than the milkshake.

OP posts:
bozzabollix · 04/06/2024 19:07

I honestly don’t know how anyone can vote for that. And I don’t know why he gets so much attention in the media. If only the Green Party could get a tenth of that coverage.

Well one is assault. And if we allow people to go around throwing milkshakes at people they don’t like it’s a dangerous precedent isn’t it.

the brexit lies are also the responsibility of people who voted for them 🤷🏻‍♀️ he’s not going to be PM and also unlikely to be an MP so you don’t need to stress overly about this

He gets attention because he courts it by being a professional obnoxious gobshite, and he knows it.

We've seen on other threads that some people think the ability to make a spectacle of oneself and spew forth snappy crowd pleasing soundbites to mop up the right wing mouthbreather vote is more important in governing a country that competence, dignity or integrity, even if the last election hadn't already proved it.

Sirzy · 04/06/2024 19:15

the scary thing is him, and the party, are managing to build momentum. I doubt enough to win seats (although I did hear that some political experts think he could win Clacton) but it still shows a worrying undertone in the country.

hattie43 · 04/06/2024 19:15

I think he might do rather well , not because people like his message but because people are sick and tired of mainstream parties promising the earth and delivering nothing .

Farage voters won't be on MN.

I also think milkshake girl should be arrested and prosecuted on the basis that we are a democracy and like the message or not politicians have a right to not be assaulted like the rest of us .

JimmyGrimble · 04/06/2024 19:22

Populist nonsense in the same vein as Trump. He likes to spout his ignorant, racist bollocks but ask him about policy and he just laughs. He has no clue and holds ‘the people’ in total contempt. He’s an arsehole of the first order. Charlatan.

SuePreemly · 04/06/2024 19:27

Professional gobshite is exactly what he is.

Reminds me of Father Jack's "who put that gobshite on the telly!"......

I think its right that the young lady that threw the milkshake has been arrested but some of the hate and threats and sexual comments towards her have been absolutely awful. misogyny is a major problem I hope the police will investigate these offences too but someone I very much doubt it

Assault? Bollocks. The nasty piece of work can wipe a bit of milkshake off.

His assault on the freedoms of millions of people will negatively affect them for years. You can’t blame it on those who voted Brexit: countless studies after the result showed clearly that it was mostly elderly people/economically disadvantaged people and people who did not benefit from higher level education who voted leave. They believed the lies he, Cummings and Johnson, etc., fed them, that their lives would be infinitely better if the UK left the EU.
I don’t blame them in the least. They were sold a pup by clever, manipulative people whom, had they a shred of decency, would have slunk quietly into the ether by now. But no, here he is, doubling down on his bullshit.

In Clacton, he’s quite likely to become MP.

JimmyGrimble · 04/06/2024 19:39

Oh I think he’ll win. He’ll be an absolutely pathetic MP. Turkeys voting for Christmas again.

LoobyDoop2 · 04/06/2024 19:42

If he wins, he’ll become the sole MP for Reform, with absolutely no power. The Tories will have too many of their own issues to worry about him, and nobody else needs to care. He’ll disappear. Or he’ll lose, and that’ll be about his 8th failure. Either way, he’ll return to being a Lord Sutch rentagob rather than the Kingmaker.

Katemax82 · 04/06/2024 19:43

My husband is going to vote for him

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/06/2024 19:46

I’ve never understood his so-called appeal. He makes me think of a particularly dodgy used car salesman. TBH almost as repulsive as Trump.

custardlover · 04/06/2024 19:47

As are people in my office . They are ranting loons either but salt of the earth people with genuine concerns about the rise and rise of immigration. Most have children and grandchildren and are worried about their future if the trajectory carries on . Reform is the only party they think will really sort it .
