I'm excited as we are coming into the summer.

And AIBU gets the most people.

I love hearing about other people's travels.

I am going to Spain for two weeks. One week in valencia and one week in benidorm.

We have a touring caravan, we did 10 nights in Shropshire at Easter and are staying in North Yorkshire for a fortnight in summer. We're just about to spend the BH weekend by Loch Lomond.

Is everyone so desperate for an interaction that they just post willy-nilly?
So find the appropriate thread.

What a miserable sod😂

Stompythedinosaur · 24/05/2024 12:56

We've had our main holiday at Easter, which was to Japan. Planning a week camping in the lakes in the summer and a festival. I'd love a long weekend in London closer to Christmas, but well see how finances are.

I love hearing about other people's holidays, so I don't know why so many people are grumpy bout the thread!

CampervanKween · 24/05/2024 13:08

We are taking the campervan to Normandy for the 80th anniversary of D Day. There are lots of celebrations planned, it's such a momentous event. I have some 40s style dresses to wear as lots of people dress up. We will give thanks and remember the brave men and women who lost their lives to secure our freedom 🙏

Make sure you buy some smidge! You might also want midge nets for Skye if going away from the coast 🙂

We have been to Skye and always pack insect repellant but to be honest we’ve very rarely needed it!

Shudacudawuda · 24/05/2024 13:24

We're off to Thailand, a complete once in a lifetime trip for us so very very excited!
Never been before, we are taking our youngish kids too so it feels like quite an adventure, can't wait!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 24/05/2024 13:34

We’re not going anywhere.

Thanks for asking

It can be hit and miss hopefully you will be alright! I find the midge forecast handy and usually very accurate!

@Reddy133 damn things are early! Probably the mild winter! We are East Coast so tend to escape them mostly unless we go to the Cairngorms!

The Scottish Midge Forecast

The Scottish Midge Forecast uses data from biting midge traps and mini-weather stations across Scotland to give you a view of midge levels in Scotland.

They are, warm and damp this week so just perfect for them! Ticks are really awful too!

FlowerPower3110 · 24/05/2024 14:32

I love holiday threads!

I have a long weekend planned in Amsterdam. Just the DC and me, no DH (we're going to see Taylor Swift!!)

We're also going to hike half of the Kungsleden in northern Sweden in August.

Later this year we're off to Argentina & Chile for 3 weeks. I'm already looking forward to these trips Grin

Crunchymum · 24/05/2024 14:56

A week in early August (South coast) and a week in Scotland in October.

Can't afford anything else.

orchidsinthemirror · 24/05/2024 15:00

I didn't ask people when they are going away

I said "WHERE are you going ".@Carly944

I know, but everyone's happily volunteering the info anyway. 😂

Going to Dublin with my my daughter to see Taylor and can’t wait!!

OMG how amazing! That sounds wonderful. Have a great time

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 24/05/2024 15:11

I'm in Tenerife now and going to Rhodes in August.
Next year Portugal, Lanzarote or Gran Canaria then Oregon and Washington for 3 weeks

Fifiellz · 24/05/2024 15:18

We are going to Florida. Have wanted to do Universal for my youngest for years as she is Harry Potter mad but she was too short to ride anything, then Covid, then all the travel restrictions and vacs.

I last went when I was 16, I am more excited than the kids!

mondaycando1 · 24/05/2024 15:19

Love all the mentions of Valencia - have family near so kids and I are off for 10 days in July. Other trips are New Forest camping in Aug and Centerparcs Holland in autumn.

DP and I are hoping for weekends in the Lakes and Valencia this year if we can coordinate assorted custody arrangements.

MinnieMountain · 24/05/2024 15:23

-Norfolk.
-North Pembrokeshire for 2 weeks.
-A long weekend in Munich just with DS.
-A swimming holiday in Majorca by myself.

123summer · 24/05/2024 15:24

all the best with your treatment, hope everything goes well for you❤️

mondaytosunday · 24/05/2024 15:29

Spain to our family house for the first time since the pandemic! The kids (19 and 20) are so excited. We will go to our favourite restaurants and hope to discover some new ones. No TV but we do download a few things to watch, bring along a few board games and play cards. We will likely be putting the house up for sale this year so bittersweet.
That's it - we went to the US at Xmas so holiday budget in the red and we won't go away again til next year (possibly Ireland).

Chelsea26 · 24/05/2024 15:29

We’ve already had a weekend in Belfast in March.

DP is cycling London to Brussels in June so I’m getting the Eurostar out to meet him when he finishes and we’re having a few days in Bruges and Ghent.

Then we’re going to Turkey for 8 days in July and a week camping in the New Forest with all the kids in August.

Also going to try to get a weekend later in the year to visit friends in Newcastle.

I love holidays!

honeylulu · 24/05/2024 15:58

I'm going to Santorini tomorrow! Just for a few days.

Then 2 weeks in Florida in the summer. Youngest kept reminding us that she hasn't been to Disney but we took her brother (before she was born). So not my first choice but I know we'll love it all over again. Big brother is coming too even though he's now 19!

Screamingabdabz · 24/05/2024 16:00

Nowhere. Can’t afford it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

AmberOtter · 24/05/2024 16:11

holiday park for Cornwall in June for 5 days, kids will love it I’m sure! No holiday abroad this year, finances won’t allow it unfortunately.

XelaM · 24/05/2024 16:17

2 weeks in Greece in August 🏖️Can't wait!
