The general feeling on social media is that the Tories will be obliterated in the upcoming GE. AIBU to not be surprised if they get voted in again?

I'll be voting Labour as I have always done.

Labour

Labour is the only option where I live, to get rid of my Reform MP.

My heartfelt sympathies if you've got 30p Lee- show him the door!

That's all fair enough, about independence though -I dunno, I always hesitated, it was like a loyalty to England, to the UK, like they needed us maybe, to help fix the place, but the older I get and the more I experience this state of affairs the more I lose hope in them wanting to sort it out long term. I feel like Scotland could be one of the greatest nations to live on the planet, if we were finally just free

If the Scottish government got their heads down and focused on fixing the issues I mentioned before and produced results, I’d definitely consider independence but as the situation is currently, it’s not for me. I feel politically homeless at the moment as each direction I look, there’s something I don’t like but hoping a shake up will be good for us!

LizLooney · 23/05/2024 03:18

Tory

GerbilStyle · 23/05/2024 03:34

Tory

Polishedshoesalways · 23/05/2024 05:48

Definitely not Labour. Terrified of what they will do to our country.

rockingbird · 23/05/2024 05:56

I cannot bring myself to vote labour ever and I have a fantastic conservative MP! Sir Roger Gale will always get my vote.

I have two sons in their early twenties. Neither of them are going to vote and nor are any of their friends apparently.

Given that we're hearing from the media of the political apathy of this age group who traditionally vote left, maybe the landslide isn't coming.

I don’t blame the young for not voting. Neither main party takes their interests seriously, preferring to continue to bribe the aging electorate with the triple lock and endless indulgence of the NHS.
i would quite like to emigrate to somewhere that prioritised the future. Even though I’m getting old myself now

I absolutely agree with this, things will only get better.. FML 🤦‍♀️ everyone seems to have forgotten!!

Aishah231 · 23/05/2024 06:00

It depends what Labour promises. If they insist on sticking to the Tory spending plans - tax cuts and loopholes for the rich pay cuts in real terms for the poor - and supporting arms sales to Israel then I'll have to spoil my ballot paper.

JadeSeahorse · 23/05/2024 06:05

Abstaining!

I have been a Conservative all my voting life but cannot vote for this current batch. A shame really as our local Tory MP is pretty good.
However, couldn't vote Labour and in all good conscience would never vote Lib/Dems whilst the vile Ed Davey is the leader recalling his involvement with the Post Office scandal and how he has tried to weasel his way out of any responsibility.🤬

SnapdragonToadflax · 23/05/2024 06:10

Voting tactically Lib Dem to get the Tories out, I live in a very Tory town and it will be a huge shock if the Tory MP is ousted. Very much want Labour to win the election though.

Labour bankrupted the country last time. Literally crashed the economy.
They have an appalling track record on women’s rights.
Took us into an illegal war in the Middle East.
Have no substance whatsoever
The people traffickers will be celebrating for sure if they win. I’m less enthused tbh.

SherbetDips · 23/05/2024 06:14

Conservatives, I’m not look for a pile on. You asked the question and that’s my answer. Why? Because the alternative is Labour and just nope to them!

Allthegoodnamesaregone1 · 23/05/2024 06:21

Green

Q124 · 23/05/2024 06:26

Reform.

Sub-prime mortgages in the US and an unregulated banking system crashed the economy. It was a worldwide crash. Gordon Brown actually worked through multiple days and nights with other financial experts to ensure we still had money in the ATMs.

And anyone who thinks the Tories wouldn't have taken us into the Iraq war must be utterly mad.

jeaux90 · 23/05/2024 06:38

Not Labour, I left the LP 5 years ago over their anti women and anti safeguarding policies.

I am politically homeless, might spoil my vote and draw a big penis on it

Sheknowsaboutme · 23/05/2024 06:48

mind your business!

toomanypillows · 23/05/2024 07:18

BIossomtoes · 23/05/2024 00:55

There are no Reform MPs. The party didn’t even exist at the last election.

Edited - I think I misunderstood, I forgot about Anderson, didn’t I? Sorry. 😔

Edited

Yes. Unfortunately he's the one! Unelected as a Reform MP of course, but locally popular

Coldsore · 23/05/2024 07:25

Conservative

and you won’t get a realistic poll on here because it’s so left leaning.

if the sheer number of threads on the election already are anything to go by, this is going to be a loooooonnnnnnnng wait until the 4th July!

Shade17 · 23/05/2024 07:33

Conservative

Chocolatefrenzy · 23/05/2024 07:39

I am politically homeless! But definitely will NOT vote labour

RishiSunak · 23/05/2024 08:07

Not sure. I'm a bit on the fence at the moment.
I'm going to see what the Rt Hon Keir Starmer comes up with.

Biker47 · 23/05/2024 08:08

Safe Labour seat, so I'll vote for whoever is likely to unseat them, which is usually Conservative.
