The general feeling on social media is that the Tories will be obliterated in the upcoming GE. AIBU to not be surprised if they get voted in again?

I'll be voting Labour as I have always done.

Labour.

The current lot are unfit for office and it’s time to get a grown up back in charge.

Soukmyfalafel · 22/05/2024 23:22

Don't know yet. I will most likely vote tactically, but I shouldn't have to. I should just vote for who I want to.

It won't be Tory or reform as they have all lost the plot.

I'm disappointed with all parties on SEND education and housing. Whoever has the best policies on these things, the NHS and the economy.

Feelingstrange2 · 22/05/2024 23:22

I support Labour. I'll be voting Lib Dem, as I've always done down here in far flung Westcountry. Only chance of getting our useless Tory out of her seat.

Jentefieldroamer · 22/05/2024 23:27

Tactical voting Liberal

Garlicnaan · 22/05/2024 23:30

Labour. There's a chance a Green party candidate will win in a city near me though and if I lived there I'd vote for them. None of the big parties is taking climate change seriously.

Damnloginpopup · 22/05/2024 19:31

None of your fucking business.

Conservatives then... Grin

JustMove · 22/05/2024 23:35

Conservatives.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 22/05/2024 23:36

Lib dem safe seat here so voting for them to keep the Tories out. Will be more than happy with a Labour government though.
The Tories are disgusting.

jcyclops · 22/05/2024 23:38

Unless it's a tactical vote, voting for any party beyond the big two seems a waste of vote.

So if a vote for anyone other than Labour or Conservative is a wasted vote, what should the people of Northern Ireland do? Neither of the two big parties put forward any candidates.

Lilyann60 · 22/05/2024 23:38

I need to vote tactically to get the Tories out in my area so for the first time ever I will have to vote Lib Dem. But I’m really a Labour supporter. Labour never stand a chance where I live

Anotherparkingthread · 22/05/2024 23:38

Labour. I think any other vote would be morally bankrupt tbh.

Pigeonqueen · 22/05/2024 23:39

Labour. But dh and I had a conversation tonight and he said he is voting Tory. Which surprised me as he’s never done that in the 15 years I’ve known him. He says he feels Labour will just bring the country down even further. It’s turned into quite a debate (a friendly one). It’s made both our votes redundant as we’re both cancelling the other out really 🤣🙈He’s sworn me to secrecy as he doesn’t want very left wing dd (aged 21 and at university) to know he’s voting Tory as he doesn’t think she’ll speak to him again 🤔😬

FiveGuyPastry · 22/05/2024 23:43

Even if you’re a Conservative voter generally, I have no idea why you’d vote for this total shower of shite. The Tories who I disagreed with but who were perfectly sensible and respectable people are long-gone. The Conservative Party is a total rabble.

Knitgoodwoman · 22/05/2024 23:44

I’m undecided I’m on the reform website looking at policies tonight and the manifesto wasn’t on the Labour website yet. Definitely not conservatives.

SabreIsMyFave · 22/05/2024 23:45

It's between Lib Dems and Labour atm, but I am swaying slightly more towards Labour. (55/45!)

Nat6999 · 22/05/2024 23:45

Ds has just rung me, he's seen that letters are going in to the 1922 committee tonight to oust Rishi Sunak, if they can get him out & a new leader installed, apparently the new leader can cancel the election if they want within 2 weeks from today. There will be riots if that happens.

I’m not sure how that would help them. Anyone who might’ve voted Conservative will be quite annoyed at that and probably choose to vote differently, so I think it would backfire!

Lily193 · 22/05/2024 23:51

Definitely not Labour

Aria999 · 23/05/2024 00:21

Joe Biden 🤣 I know the uk has troubles but at least you're not getting trump back

waltzingparrot · 23/05/2024 00:28

I have two sons in their early twenties. Neither of them are going to vote and nor are any of their friends apparently.

Given that we're hearing from the media of the political apathy of this age group who traditionally vote left, maybe the landslide isn't coming.

JaceLancs · 23/05/2024 00:39

I have never ever voted conservative, however I among with many others voted Tony Blair in and deeply regretted it
Since then I’ve gone green, independent, Lin dem etc depending on who have been my local candidate
I’m still not decided yet and need to do my research but it will not be conservative

There certainly will. Fortunately they couldn’t possibly elect and install a new leader within two weeks, their process takes about six.

HeddaGarbled · 23/05/2024 00:45

Lib Dem. I’m a Labour supporter but where I live they don’t stand a chance, plus I vaguely know the Lib Dem candidate socially and he’s sound.

namestevalian · 23/05/2024 00:49

Tactical voting in my seat to keep Tories out .

Done with this nonsense & cronyism

toomanypillows · 23/05/2024 00:51

Labour is the only option where I live, to get rid of my Reform MP.
