I saw on the BAFTA’s the other night that she got some special award and I was genuinely wondering does anyone like her? I’ve never known anyone who does so I wanted to ask on here.
Personally I have no idea how she’s kept a job on tv for so long and can only assume that she’s got a lot of dirt on people. In her acceptance speech she thank her Mum for her work ethic which I thought was quite funny as she only does 4 hours a week if she feels like it. Not to mention the whole tax avoidance thing. Just curious

Don't have much of an opinion on her, but why shouldn't she work part time?

She obviously earns well for those 4 hours a week, should she be doing a shift in Tesco to keep her busy?

I didn’t have any opinions on Lorraine Kelly either way as I don’t know her and it’s not my kind of TV. She seems pleasant but I suspect she’s got quite a funny, edgier side to her privately.

However, she very firmly nailed her colours to the TWAW flag and has trotted out some misogynistic bullshit to support those views, so on the basis of that, I’m not especially impressed with her.

I don't know her and never met her & none of her actions affect my life. Therefore have nothing against her. So yes, I do like her as is supposed to be the normal default if you've never met someone.

This is my position, and when she started giving it 'you go girl!' to Eddie Izzard who likes intimidating 13 year old girls in bathrooms. Plus I think she's a shit presenter/interviewer 🤷‍♀️.

She's really irritating . Whoever she's interviewing , she never has a view of her own , agrees with everyone whatever they're saying .

She seems nice enough.

As I previously stated she did interview Katherine stock and did politely state she didn't agree with her on certain things.

Else she is not supposed to be a journalist interviewing people like say good morning Britain or piers Morgan is. You don't expect Johnathan Ross to have people on and grill them and disagree? That's not their role or the shows they do.

I work 12-16 hours a week and consider myself to have good work ethic. I give my all when I'm at work and do a good job. She's 64, her hours have changed since she was younger, she's earned the right to be able to dictate her own hours and her role allows her to. She also faced a lot of discrimination both as a woman and someone with an obvious accent when she started out. Give it a rest!

Have to be honest, that really annoyed me. Katherine Stock was being perfectly reasonable and Lorraine felt that she needed to make the point very clearly that she didn't agree with her, and did challenge - albeit in a polite way. Lorraine was impeccably polite but my guess would be that it wasn't her choice to have Kathleen on the show as it was very, very clear that she didn't like her or approve.

On the other hand, Eddie Izzard talking about how he's a victim having to face young teenage girls in a women's toilet, and flitting between boy and girl mode? Lorraine is all sympathy.

This is why I think she can fuck right off.

Either she's just there for entertainment interviews or she's there to challenge - but don't pick and choose. Unbelievable that the person Lorraine thinks it's appropriate to challenge is the woman who just wants safe spaces for women.

I was on the train from up north to down south..my son was a toddler
and acting up and crying most of the time. The lovely lady who held my son whilst I went fo a wee, helped amuse my son..and shared snacks with us was Lorraine Kelly! Lovely lady ❤️

I have no issue with the folk who have genuine reasons why they don't like LK.

My issue is with the fabricated reasons not to like her.

Do you think a reason being her wanting to pay less tax than what she would do as an employee is one of those fabrications? Because I think that counts as a fact.

@Toxicinlawz the judge said they got it wrong. They said she was an ITV employee and the judge said she wasn't as she didn't receive staff benefits such a holiday or sick pay amongst other things such as having to pretend to 'like guests' even when she didn't

They hounded Kaye Adams for years in the hope that she'd give up and when she carried on (at mainly) her own cost another judge said she was in the right.

I'm not sure of the details but didn't HMRC change the rules then try to back date payments? Don't know if thats what happened to LK but i seem to remember it did with KA

You are entitled to an opinion on that, but it's not a fact per se.

2. Even if you don't take to her, why on earth would you care? Just don't watch her programmes.

She’s 100% correct and you know it. chartered Tax Advisor here and she’s dodgy as hell. Just like anyone else who turns up day in day out to do a job for YEARS and called themselves a ‘contractor’. Those that weep about IR35 - my heart bleeds!

This is the point. Kaye went to court, it was proven that her tax avoidance scheme was legal, but she and Lorraine use a dodgy scheme to avoid tax that their viewers - who mostly earn must less than them - pay. Are you ok with that?
