I saw on the BAFTA’s the other night that she got some special award and I was genuinely wondering does anyone like her? I’ve never known anyone who does so I wanted to ask on here.
Personally I have no idea how she’s kept a job on tv for so long and can only assume that she’s got a lot of dirt on people. In her acceptance speech she thank her Mum for her work ethic which I thought was quite funny as she only does 4 hours a week if she feels like it. Not to mention the whole tax avoidance thing. Just curious

I don't watch morning tv but how ridiculous to say she only works four hours a week just because you only see her on the television for that time! You don't know what preparation there is or what other work she does! Also, I'm pretty sure that she was found not to have been dodging tax. HMRC got it wrong.

I don’t really know enough about her to have a well formed opinion but on the odd occasion I have caught her on tv she comes across as a genuinely kind and warm woman, which is more than can be said for a lot of tv personalities.

God yeah, just like that Clive Myrie and Sophie Raworth on the BBC, only doing half an hour on the news AND NOT EVEN EVERY WEEK, THEY TAKE IT IN TURNS!

So nasty OP. Lorraine is indeed lovely and genuine, goes out of her way to put people at ease and is very down to earth. I sometimes see her show on my non work day - shock horror I don't work Fridays - and I quite like it. There's a segment on tv, fashion, etc. Years ago I remember Katie Price was on the main show and when they briefly went over to Lorraine to find out what was on her show that morning, the other presenter gushed about KP and said isn't she a wonderful role model for our daughters (or something along these lines) and Lorraine said No. I think she was expected to say yes. She really went up in my estimation then!

I think the former presenter, MP is Esther McVey.

It might not be 8 hours hard labour, but they do tend to get there at stupid hours and spend much more time there than the actual tv slot.

Never watch her programme but I think she comes across as lovely and have never heard any negative things about her so I have no idea what you are on about.

Why would you need other peoples opinions on someone you clearly dislike? It’s ok not to like someone, seeking validation for your dislike is just depressing.

Also, very odd to berate her for 'working part time' on a site aimed at mums, who often work part time themselves.

I was just about to say the same. I don't even work at all, and before I retired a year early I hadn't had a full time job for five years. Didn't realise it was a crime of some sort!

A part time worker can easily have a better work ethic than someone with a full time job, honestly you sound jealous.

I never watch her show but I have a big thing against women starting bitchy threads about other women who have done nothing to deserve that.

I think it’s fair enough if you don’t like her but I find it weird you would say that no one you know likes her either. Do you actually go to social events and canvas your friends and family?

A woman wins an award. Only on MN, which is supposedly a female friendly site, do you get such a bitchy, spiteful response to her win. I dislike this kind of MN response to a successful woman.

I like her. She always seems warm and friendly, she’s the sort of person I would want to be friends with if I met her out socially.

She's an ambassador for the 2025 Orkney Island Games.

She's an institution!! I warmed more to her when she was in Gogglebox, and I like that she's pretty feisty and doesn't worry about letting people know her opinions off her programme - I'd also work part time if I could lol - but it does give other women more chances to get tv time!

Seems like a nice lady who does a live TV show every morning.

She has a good work ethnics and it's nice to see a lady of age or with a proud regional accent on TV.

You may not like her show but don't character judge with fake facts about HMRC and tax avoidance.
