The way customers are buying paddling pools, BBQs, beers etc - they think it’s going to be this weather for 2 months. Could be thunderstorms for some tomorrow. Plus rain and mid teensC next ten days (Midlands)

Im sure people throw out electric fans after every summer.

We don’t have loads of different drinks in at home normally. Usually just milk, coffee and sometimes a bottle of orange squash (and tap water of course!). If we want anything else, we buy it as and when we want it.

I think your dh and my dp may be long lost brothers... I have a slight nervous feeling every spring/summer over what 'ideas' he has with the garden 😂

So? Paddling pools, BBQs and beers aren't going to go off before 2 months, are they? Why wouldn't you take advantage of the great weather while it's there?

People are getting ready for Summer in general.

We’ve had rain and freezing temperatures for months. And you begrudge people to enjoy a little sunshine? Jesus Christ.

I only throw a fan away if it breaks (2 in the past 3 years!). I have it on from April until September usually. It is 25.2 in my flat right now and hideous. I don't wish the Summer to be bad for everyone else but hope it goes fast for me! I hate it.

Let people enjoy it while it's here OP! We get enough crap weather! We have fans, a little bbq and a garden umbrella and I'm look forward to them coming out as it means sunmer sunshine is here. They all get stored away and brought back out each year. Why wouldn't we? I'm sure some people are wasteful with seasonal stuff but surely it's a minority. Most people have more financial sense.

Some people will be buying replacements etc due to wear and tear. My fan is great but I'm not expecting it to last forever. Similarly if we upsize, that's the sort of thing I'd maybe get round to buying when we need it and not before so YAB a bit U to judge everyone buying stuff OP.

I hate hate hate being too hot but I do love days like this and have been to the shop to buy stuff for burgers later on (though we don't have a bbq but will eat them outside) and some ice-cream. I know we're due rain and thunder tomorrow but am enjoying today while it lasts.

We don't get a lot of sun in the UK mostly so why shouldn't people enjoy it?

Friend’s sister throws out her fan at end of summer as no room for it. Yet her parents live 2 miles away and have a large house. She could have asked them to store it.

Blimey, you cant win on MN can you? have a little moan about the shit weather we've had for months and months and thats wrong. Enjoy the sunshine when it finally arrives by having a BBQ, feeling happy and celebratory, and a nice cold beer and thats wrong too!

Why not? Tomorrow will be our 4th BBQ in a week.

If you work full time M to F not outside I can tell you 2 warm days on Saturday and Sunday feels like winning the lottery!

Why would I throw out my electric fans after the summer? We have three that are currently in the loft and come down every summer. You sound miserable.

It's the same every year and after a long, wet and windy winter It's not surprising we all want to be out in the sun? Predictable the first thing a lot of people do is have a bbq lol 😆

I got out my summer dresses last week.
Put away some jumpers and thick work trousers.
I absolutely love being able to wear a summer dress, sandals and sunglasses.
I’m hoping it will last.
I love the warm weather.
O bet retailers love it too, so they can sell more ‘stuff.’

My kids played in their paddling pool outside today. They ate ice-cream and played with the bubble machine.

What would you rather they do? Sit inside watching TV with the windows closed?

I've been on the winter is shit threads. Cold and wet makes me thoroughly miserable.

We're having a bbq tonight. I'm fucking loving this weather. Even though I'm now in shorts and hoody cos it's not actually that warm now. I could live without next door's shit music though.

Just go and enjoy the sun! Get some vitamin d and cheer up.
