Having watched her interview this evening, everything about her screamed 'liar'. Her language, her demeanor, her body language. I just wonder what other think?

Have you @BustyMcgoober? I've not encountered anyone like her, which is why I'm so intrigued by it. A very strained relationship with the truth it seems.

0tterish · 09/05/2024 21:45

She should have just admitted some of it was true but not all of it. Which is probably true. She's come off worse because she's obviously lying

0tterish · 09/05/2024 21:46

I thought Piers was enjoying it and I think he's an arsehole

Barleycat · 09/05/2024 21:46

Delusional disorder I reckon. I think she believes what she is saying. Very difficult to treat.

nearlymrs · 09/05/2024 21:49

I think she was lying, but that she genuinely believes her lies- at least some of them. I'd be interested to find about the truth though, lots of it can be proved or disproved!

It was difficult viewing. I wonder why she thought it was a good idea to have an interview with him. And why was she so cagey about the degree? Why did she not just make up the grade if she didn't do it

I think PM was trying to get her to say whether she got a 2:1 or a 2:2 or whatever. She kept insisting she got an ordinary degree which is a pass but lower than a third. It doesn't have any other classification.

We decided to take this down as it is not in the spirit of the site.

Get tae, ya bawbag

I'd like some proof of that stat, and what qualifies as "benefits"

stealtheatingtunnocks · 09/05/2024 21:50

Over half a million people watched that.

it’s like a modern day freak show”come and watch the crazy lady”

Gafd’s not exactly stable mood either. The whole thing feels dangerous.

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 09/05/2024 21:52

@ShadesofPoachedSmoke well said!

I thought with a BA Ord you just got a pass or a fail

TokyoSushi · 09/05/2024 21:53

I managed 10 minutes or so, it was really uncomfortable, as was the whole of Baby Reindeer, which I also felt compelled to watch.

I don't think that she was lying in the absolute sense of the world, I think she really believes what she's saying, scary.

AutumnLeaves333 · 09/05/2024 21:53

I honestly don’t understand why people are encouraging this, she is mentally unwell, everyone knows she is mentally unwell. Why are people treating it like it’s entertainment, I really don’t understand why anyone would watch piers Morgan making fun of a mentally unwell person, because that is what it is.

Will people be happy if she is driven to harm herself over this, I can’t imagine she has anyone supporting her to make the right decisions or to stand by her while she is being pulled apart and mocked by the entire county.

BustyMcgoober · 09/05/2024 21:53

Reddit are saying it’s a Black Mirror episode in real life. Which pretty much nails it I think.

Trez1510 · 09/05/2024 21:54

@Saltyswee forgot to include child benefit and Scotland's Additional Child Payment in that list of benefits.

It'll give you the chance to calculate like-for-like percentages across GB&NI.

HTH.

TotalDramarama24 · 09/05/2024 21:54

She was quite chilling to watch. She's guilty as hell. Also when she said she didn't send 41,000 emails but even if she did it wouldn't damage the legal case against Netflix.

Do you think her lawyer boyfriend knows he is her boyfriend, if he even exists?

LiterallyOnFire · 09/05/2024 21:55

An ordinary degree in Scotland is one year less than an honours degree, I think. So they were at cross purposes on that one. I suspect an ordinary degree up there doesn't attract an overall grade classification, but I'm sure a Scots MNer will be able to clarify.

JellyBeanFactory · 09/05/2024 21:56

I can't understand why, if as Piers Morgan said, records are publicly available, he did not have them in front of him and challenge her with actual evidence. His research team will have the wherewithal / the contacts / a way-in everywhere - so surely he could have produced a copy of a court order or details of her previous stalking accusations stories or her academic history. He did not produce any such evidence. It was all hearsay, on both parts.

It was such an awkward interview. I didn't believe much of what she said and I fear for PM that he may become an obsession now.

Allimaskingforisalittlerespect · 09/05/2024 21:57

Can it still be seen on YouTube?

Americano75 · 09/05/2024 21:57

I watched about 5 minutes and had to turn off, it was so uncomfortable. The woman isn't well, the whole thing felt exploitative.

Spratt · 09/05/2024 22:02

People are now saying that the PM interview/press attention is being pushed by Netflix, in the hope of creating enough material for a series 2. It’s been number 1 on Netflix in a lot of countries so a second series is wanted.

I haven’t watched the interview but saw a clip, I don’t think that an ethical journalist would have conducted such an interview.

I said exactly the same surely they would have evidence if it was out there

"Aberdeenshire's Fiona Harvey brands Piers Morgan 'a bully' ahead of chat show interview - Aberdeen Live" https://www.aberdeenlive.news/news/aberdeen-news/aberdeenshires-fiona-harvey-brands-piers-9274047.amp

Oh dear

This is not her, it was picked up from one of the many fake Fiona accounts, she actually made her real account private. One of the fake accounts is popular because he/she writes in similar style, its them who said PM is a bully etc.

It's one of that poster's oft-repeated, never proven statements.

I asked her to clarify on a thread the other day when she quoted it.

Unsurprisingly, no response. I've never encountered a self-loathing Scot before, and considered them to be an urban myth. Every day's a school day, huh?

Genuine apology to OP for derail. 😕

I wonder if we are all being taken for fools by all the characters. Perhaps it's some sort of social experiment to get everyone talking.
