Can't help thinking King Charles is selfish

Standing back, looking at the Harry situation, I can't help thinking that Charles is the root of all the family toxicity.

He had an affair while married to Diana, which led to their divorce and much unhappiness on her side. After her early death, his children were obviously in a lot of pain. The remote parenting style of the RF probably did little to soften this.
He's managed to marry his affair partner and now he's cutting off one of his sons.
Harry just looks like a really hurt person acting out to me. In most families, they would just be tolerated and forgiven.
I think the RF look very cold.

KC is stuck no matter what he does, Diana is portrayed as Saint like when she herself had numerous affairs and struggled with MH, divorcing parents are the worse and will slate the other parent to the child. This leads to a total toxic mess for the child. Harry loyal to his mum won't accept Camilla and sees her as the bad guy in all this and slags her off. William had Kate's stable family and that helped him, whereas Harry has Meghan who I don't think is a very stable person and I will get slated for this but there was always something about her I didn't like, not quite sure why. KC has to now balance between two sons who don't want to make amends which is sad. As well as if they say anything to Harry they know it will be reported in the papers as this is Harry's only real way of staying relevant, it s a horrible situation full stop!

@YaMuvva Jeremy Clarkson has said they are friends.
Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson have had lunch with Camilla.

CurlewKate · 10/05/2024 14:15

@derxa That wasn't a "sneer". It was a vile, misogynist attack. And you say you love him....

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:16

@CurlewKate I agree. What Piers Morgan wrote about Meghan was absolutely dreadful. He should have been prosecuted.

No they didn’t have lunch with her, they were at the same luncheon with dozens of other people

Clutching at straws now aren't we.

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:21

So you are not denying Jeremy Clarkson said he was friends with Camilla?

Runnerinthenight · 10/05/2024 14:21

Clarkson and Morgan are both odious. I am sure the RF have to put up with odious boors quite a lot. Of course they are going to be gracious and polite. Doesn't mean they're having them round for dinner!!

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:21

So you are not denying Jeremy Clarkson said he was friends with Camilla?

I don't know if he said that. Even if he did say it, I don't know if it's true.

So you are saying you believe every word that comes out of Clarkson's mouth?

YaMuvva · 10/05/2024 14:23

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 13:52

A poster claimed the world loved the Queen because when she was abroad when she died and locals were keen to watch her funeral.
So Diana must have been adored by the world.
I don't really thinks he was, I just think the posters claim about the Queen was a bit silly.

You don’t think the Queen was popular?!

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:23

And it was not hundreds at the lunch. It was a small private event.

Runnerinthenight · 10/05/2024 14:24

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:23

And it was not hundreds at the lunch. It was a small private event.

But it wasn't just a tete a tete between the three of them then?

God this is tedious!

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:25

@Runnerinthenight There were no follow up articles saying Jeremy Clarkson was lying. He explained in some detail how he met Camilla and what they had in common.

Livingtothefull · 10/05/2024 12:25

Face it: William is lazy. He really does very little at all, no great projects or achievements to his name, his contributions are minimal - but will take the money thank you very much. The 'hands on dad' thing is particularly insulting to those of us who are juggling jobs and family responsibilities, together with financial concerns and cost of living issues.

I am not a particular fan of Charles but nobody has ever called him lazy and neither do I.

I’m happy enough to see Charles on the throne. He isn’t lazy, he does have some good insights, supports worthy causes and was miles ahead of the play with the whole organic thing. I think he is both informed and genuine. And he’s waited long enough…

Jesus the toxic family behavior that H and M complained about is really on full display here. No wonder they left.

You are mistaken my dear.

They left because they had a tantrum when they weren't allowed their own way but the late Queen, and she was 100% correct. Do keep up!

Didn't have you down as a Clarkson fan.

Even if there is a 'friendship', it means nothing. Unless you are accusing Camilla of putting him up to it? Because she isn't responsible for the actions of her 'friends@?

derxa · 10/05/2024 14:29

CurlewKate · 10/05/2024 14:15

@derxa That wasn't a "sneer". It was a vile, misogynist attack. And you say you love him....

You may well be right but it was based on Game of Thrones which I think is vile and misogynistic. I try to put myself in Meghan's position. If Clarkson had written that article about me I would just have shrugged it off. I wouldn't be weeping and wailing on the floor.

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:30

@Runnerinthenight You know what I said.
Someone else posted negative things about Camilla. I said I could believe it because Camilla is friends with Jeremy Clarkson.
I do not think anyone who is nice would be friends with him.

Runnerinthenight · 10/05/2024 14:30

Livingtothefull · 10/05/2024 09:46

The monarchy - and all the pomp and pomposity that goes with it - underpins and legitimises the grotesque inequalities in our country. I agree that it makes us a laughing stock, I don't think many people realise how negatively it portrays us.

I don't necessarily blame the individuals born into the RF, but I do think that the monarchy represents so much of what is worst about our country; classism, worship of privilege, tolerance of gross inequality.

A symbol of national pride and unity? They can't even unite their own family.
No, getting rid of them won't make inequality go away automatically, but it might signal that we are actually serious about making things better.

Catch a grip! The UK does pomp and ceremony like no-one else.

It doesn't legitimise anything. If the RF disappeared tomorrow, it would make no difference at all.

That's your opinion. Opinions, much like recollections, may vary.

Maybe they only met once, who knows? We all have something in common with a lot of people, and there are degrees of friendship. I wouldn't be reading anything into it.

SluggyMuggy · 10/05/2024 14:33

@Runnerinthenight sure it is my opinion that anyone who is friends with Jeremy Clarkson as Camilla is, is fundamentally not a decent person.

Runnerinthenight · 10/05/2024 14:42

Your 'opnion' means nothing whatsoever to me. I am not interested.

CurlewKate · 10/05/2024 14:43

@derxa. I'm amazed that anyone could "shrug off" something like that. But I'm also amazed that anyone could say they "love" Jeremy Clarkson l, so 🤷‍♀️

Runnerinthenight · 10/05/2024 14:47

CookStrait · 10/05/2024 11:11

Camilla’s the problem, but Child Charles should man up & sort her out. But in saying that Harry’s better off without them.

Horseshit!
