Can't help thinking King Charles is selfish

Standing back, looking at the Harry situation, I can't help thinking that Charles is the root of all the family toxicity.

He had an affair while married to Diana, which led to their divorce and much unhappiness on her side. After her early death, his children were obviously in a lot of pain. The remote parenting style of the RF probably did little to soften this.
He's managed to marry his affair partner and now he's cutting off one of his sons.
Harry just looks like a really hurt person acting out to me. In most families, they would just be tolerated and forgiven.
I think the RF look very cold.

Jesus the toxic family behavior that H and M complained about is really on full display here. No wonder they left.

I can’t bear these kind of comments. Should we be fawning and scraping over two lists who have done quite serious damage to the reputation of Britain abroad?

People mocked her for years. The reason she is liked and respected now is because she put head down and got on with it.

Also Diana wasn't loved by the media at the end of her life. They did a huge turn around after she died.

I didn't hear anything from Harry, don't know the guy...I worked with a woman who used to be involved in royal press photography, it's an open secret in that part of the journalism world. It wasn't just Harry, it was lots of people...

Yes the media really gaslighted us didn’t they into thinking they adored her when the tide was turning on her before her death.

Same - my mum and I travelled twice to Britain in the 90s for the sake of the royal history. Which on a long-haul flight from Australia, was quite an undertaking.

Funny that, I also work in the media and I’ve never heard that Camilla sells stories. Why would she do that? And is it just about Harry? Which stories?

This is not true about Diana.
What the media used to do was print lovely photos of Diana and then every so often turn it around and sell nasty stories. It sold newspapers. They did it with all famous women. Even Queen Elizabeth had negative stories published about her.

Diana though was very popular. She wore trendy clothes and showcased British fashion designers. She was also respected for her work with HIV and landmines. Both were political issues that most celebrities would not touch, and in both she made a difference.

I was not a "fan" and I think if I had met Diana we would not have had much in common. But Diana was very popular.

H&M are no longer our concern, they have left. I think it is the RF remaining who have done 'serious damage' to our reputation, when they very publicly supported and bailed out an accused sex offender (Andrew).

Exactly. She literally had stuff thrown at her in Waitrose at one point and earned herself the epithet “the most hated woman in Britain”. It took years for her to prove that she was just a decent human who’s not perfect. They’re very lucky to have each other, the love between them is palpable.

I was on holiday abroad when Diana died. Coverage about her death and the funeral was all over the media.

This does not surprise me about Camilla. She is friends with Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan after all.

And your point is? We all know the world went mad when Diana died.

The tragic death of a younger, controversial, former member of the British RF, who with the son of an equally controversial figure that she had been dating, would be all over the news wouldn’t it, regardless of how people felt about it.

A poster claimed the world loved the Queen because when she was abroad when she died and locals were keen to watch her funeral.
So Diana must have been adored by the world.
I don't really thinks he was, I just think the posters claim about the Queen was a bit silly.

It wasn’t remotely silly. QEll was highly respected and loved globally. She was an institution that anyone under about 75 in the western world couldn’t imagine life without. The global viewing figures for her funeral speak for themselves.

Lots of people watched the Queen's funeral as a historical event.
And plenty of people could imagine life without the Queen. For the vast majority of the population the Queen dying changed nothing in their lives.

Of course it changed nothing in anyone’s life aside from her family. I still immediately see her face when anyone refers to The Queen and it takes a second for my brain to catch up. Most people are the same. Anyway you’re just arguing for the sake of it now.

It was an ill judged article but I don't approve of people being 'cancelled' because they sneer at Meghan. Thankfully he still has his farm series and WWTBAM
