There's a CF parked in my drive

Village fete day. Parking's a nightmare. Come back from my food shop to find some CF has parked on my drive. So I parked across my drive (dropped kerb but no double yellows or white driveway signs) to put my shopping away. Nearest proper parking is going to be a 5-10 min walk away I reckon - it's heaving! No specific AIBU but I know you lot love a parking drama.
Can I leave my car infront of the driveway and head out to the fete? It would block the car in ... but there's no note, no blue badge etc ... can I get a parking fine?
My DH thinks we should park properly and walk back in but tbh im enraged someone parked on my drive!!!

This is never truly a parking thread without uploading the photograph to the local residents Facebook group and demanding to know who owns the car. Oh the drama I’ve seen play out on there 😀

My sister was blocked into my driveway last week. I called the police - 101 not 999 obviously but was told it was a civil offence and nothing they could do. She had to get to work so paid £30 for a taxi. We were annoyed but the police refused to do anything and it was a Saturday so no one at the council. The car was eventually moved after midnight so we didn't see who had parked there.

Are you saying the police should have done something?

Have just realised that I've eaten a whole packet of jaffa cakes whilst waiting for OP to update this thread . . . . can anyone provide me with a plausible excuse to give to my Slimming World Consultant?🤔

I hear you. I've managed to avoid drinking wine for 4 months but there's been so much talk of wine on this thread I've had to join in and have a glass.
