No. Of course not FFS.

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 22:54

@JKRIsRight as I've said.....

People can moderate their drinking, you may not drink because you feel you can't.

That's your issue.

Roundandroundthegard3n · 27/04/2024 22:54

How desperate are you for wine that you'll leave your toddler unattended in the house?

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 22:55

@hourstokill I might read it, I love a story!

OP can have wine alone on her own home....

I'd assume it's adult company?

Dayfurrrrit · 27/04/2024 22:57

small Attached houses and monitor that works then yes I personally would. Most people are terrible at understanding risk and the risk of a fire breaking out in your house during that exact 1 hr period you’re next door is so minuscule that if you really think that’s a threat then you shouldn’t allow your child to ride a bike, get in a car, cross a road, be near water etc etc

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 22:57

@JKRIsRight please.don't bang my head against a brick wall, just do your own!

Hahaha, glad I riled someone up today, that's why I chose this username. Grin
Sleep tight darling, here's a cuppa to relax. Brew

Circe7 · 27/04/2024 23:00

I wouldn’t do it because it’s probably illegal and I wouldn’t be able to relax but I suspect I take a higher risk every time my children cross a road or go to the park or get in a car.

MrsJa · 27/04/2024 23:00

I see you've decided not to go but I was going to add no because cameras can freeze, I've had them to my phone, to an app and the actual 'baby' cams and at some point all have had a glitch.

Also god forbid you couldn't get back into the house. Really not worth it.

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 23:01

@JKRIsRight I'm having a glass of wine..

I'm gonna get shitfaced ...obs!

I think you already are. 😂

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 23:02

@JKRIsRight based on.....?

Because I dare to disagree with you?

🤔

Nottodaty · 27/04/2024 23:03

When we used to pop over to our neighbours we would put a travel cot up in one of the rooms. I couldn’t see the front door ro my house and I wouldn’t be able to hear her if she needed me. Even though I wasn’t far away I couldn’t get to her in the same way of her being in the same house.

Behindthescenesnow · 27/04/2024 23:04

@Roundandroundthegard3n that's been covered by the OP already.

Did you have a monitor that would reach?

Copperoliverbear · 27/04/2024 23:09

No

Lovemybunnies · 27/04/2024 23:10

No. But I know quite a few people (Doctors and teachers included) who have.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 27/04/2024 23:15

Absolutely not.

Invite neighbour to you

MumblesParty · 27/04/2024 23:15

Allfur · 27/04/2024 19:19

Isn't being in the sitting room down stairs pretty much the same as being in the sitting room next door?

@Allfur between my sitting room and an upstairs bedroom there is one door (not locked) and a flight of stairs. Between my neighbour’s sitting room and my upstairs bedroom there is a door in their house, their front door (which might be locked), my locked front door, and a flight of stairs.
So no, not the same at all.

Heatedblanky · 27/04/2024 23:15

What? No! Haven’t you ever heard of Maddy McCann?

coldcallerbaiter · 27/04/2024 23:16

When my kids were babies we had the old style sound monitors, but they picked up next doors one too. I could hear them having conversations.

Tech is great now, but you cannot keep your eyes and ears on a baby in a cot at all times. You will be asleep for some of it for starters.

i knew an old lady who was a single mum in the 60s, a widow or divorced, she told me that she left her baby in the cot and went to work at a factory, she came home at lunchtime to feed the baby and went back to work.
