Next door neighbour has invited me a round for a glass of wine. DS will be in bed next door I have camera on his room so I can see him.

Would you go or not? Or does it feel to much like a Madeline McCann situation.

You've very clearly not read the full thread......

I have read the full thread, hardly any posters have mentioned the wine drinking and when they have, most have been fine with it.

DragonGypsyDoris · 28/04/2024 17:52

This is a fairly normal set of circumstances in a very big house.

LordFrank · 28/04/2024 18:09

@Saschka Bad comparison and example. I’ve known this woman personally for years - not a friend - to clarify. I expect a lot will be revealed at her trial.

LordFrank · 28/04/2024 18:13

@Janiie We run our own business so all of our work materials are there; it’s good to separate work from home. We watch films out there because it’s almost like having a date night ‘away’ from the house - in reality we are in our garden with a baby monitor. It’s always felt very safe.

bradpittsbathwater · 28/04/2024 18:13

Slightly off topic but why the fuck does it take 7 years for the fire case to go to trial?

bradpittsbathwater · 28/04/2024 18:15

Oh it was 3 years ago! Still a bloody long time

When the trial takes place, that will be explained.

I expect so as well.

Truly tragic.

Cabin at the end of the garden, nursery other end of the house. Doesn't really sound like say hanging the washing out whilst kids in sight in the house?

Just have a date night when thr kids are actually being looked after by someone. Relying on monitors while you watch films in a separate building seems crazy imo.

When mine were little, we lived on a street where almost everyone had young kids. Summer weekends, we often had impromptu street parties. Everyone would bring wine, blankets, picnics, barbecues, whatever. Once it got to bed time for little ones, people would take them home, settle them and return to the party with baby monitors, phone cameras, whatever. No one got shit faced, nothing bad happened. We all just sat in the street and enjoyed the evenings. Never occurred to any of us that this was somehow neglectful. Social services weren't involved with any of us. No one would ever have been further from their house than the bottom end of some people's gardens. I have very fond memories of that street.

Behindthescenesnow · 28/04/2024 18:54

@LordFrank ignore @Janiie what a stupid suggestion..

You've described normal family like, not a fucking date night!

Whatever that is!

You had alcohol without being drunk...,.

Some people won't believe that!

Crimsonripple · 28/04/2024 20:09
