A male was caught on camera whispering to a small boy and then biting his ear in a potentially sexual way.

The police are now involved too

My dad used to bite my ear sometimes.

He was 110% not a weirdo

In the same way the guy in the video is doing it?

Playing with kid, making monster noises, kids laughing, general sillyness, biting ear = Normal.

Standing behind child, leaning down, nuzzling his face, gently nibbling an pulling ear, no reaction from child = not normal.

He does it in the style of an adult with a partner.
Not a father.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2024 14:28

he doesnt do it in a sensual way fgs, annoying by the looks of it.
got that camera person has a lot to answer for

Yes he does. And it's sickening. WTF has the 'camera person' got to do with it? Confused It's him doing it, not the 'camera person!'

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2024 14:29

no he doesnt @SabreIsMyFave
i have seen the video

Exactly. It's sinister and nasty and weird. 10s of 1000s of people saying this cannot be wrong! It's gross. Ewwwwwww. I am seriously worried that a few posters are thinking this is a 'normal' way for a MAN to behave with a child. 😬

I don't need to use any 'imagination' to see that this MAN is behaving inappropriately with a young boy.

I find it very worrying that you think it's normal.

I have only seen the pixelated video so can't comment exactly on that but my dad didn't growl at me or pretend to be a monster, it was more of a suprise attack

I just noticed MN have taken the link off, (from the top of page 3,) because it's an ongoing police investigation. And for that reason I am not posting anything else on this thread. I only just noticed MN's message on here. Sorry MN.

just so awful for this man and his son that it has gone viral.
these are real people

That poir lad , he'll have a hard time going back to school after the weekend. Reminded me of the Paul Scholes biting his dds toes, yuk.

I agree. I feel so sorry for the poor boy that this was caught on camera for the world to see and it’s now viral.

AhBiscuits · 27/04/2024 14:46

I wonder if the police will actually do anything. Is it enough grounds for them to investigate?

I’ve never nuzzled my teen or bit her ear like that.
I wouldn’t do it to one of my parents or friends either.

Its completely inappropriate.

At the very least it’s such an embarrassing thing to do in a public place.

I can’t see how anyone can watch it and not feel uncomfortable.

This is what I do to a partner, not a friend, child or parent - which says it all.

Very dangerous attitude and exactly how child abuse goes unreported and carries on get into the real world there is no way that was harmless fun kids need protecting

This.

Obviously these playful silly things don't happen in all families. Certainly not many MN families.

AmiShitsaline · 27/04/2024 15:43

It’s the man’s expression and the boys reaction that make it look so sinister, I think it does look sexual rather than if they were laughing and teasing each other. Awful for the poor boy.

Workhardcryharder · 27/04/2024 15:45

lemmein · 27/04/2024 14:13

It's always really shocking to me that on a parenting group (mostly frequented by women) overt displays of potential abuse is dismissed by some as playful, or ridiculed as 'pearl clutching'.

Even in plain sight, on live tv, people will make excuses for men. It's not ok. Even if it was playful (it isn't!) - doing something on live tv to embarrass your child is a shitty thing to do. No excuses.

With all due respect, you have absolutely zero idea whether this is sinister or not, and there is a reason no one would go to prison with this as the only piece of evidence.

Embarrassing your child is not a shitty thing to do, that is the relationship many parents have with their child. It can be lovely, bonding and healthy.

Take your projections elsewhere

You have a different relationship with your kids than others, mad to comprehend I know

On the flip side, seeing as it's something I associate with my dad, it's not something that would occur to me to do with my partner. My dad used to do it to be annoying

I watched the unedited video and it looks like a joke to me, cool if it has saved a kid from something but I doubt it, probably just gonna get him the world of shit at school
