A male was caught on camera whispering to a small boy and then biting his ear in a potentially sexual way.

The police are now involved too

The full non-pixelated video on X was disturbing.
The man appears to lick the boy's face before nibbling his ear. Before he sees the screen the man looks serious, there's no jokey expression. The boy looks uncomfortable, he doesn't laugh or say "argh get off haha" or react in any way that would make you think it's a (weird) family joke. He's much older than a child most parents would kiss and nuzzle in public. The man looks momentarily shocked when he sees he's on the screen and then starts clowning.
I think it's good that the police are investigating. This might be just a family with rather strange habits and it's all consensual, but the child deserves help if there's anything that isn't.

Sorry, but the video shown on X isn’t the full video at all, you can see the whole BBC interview with Stephen Hendry on iplayer where the family; dad and two boys are very prominent. On the larger screen of the TV you can see there is no licking, or nibbling, the dad leans in to talk to the boy very close to his face, whispers something into his ear, and then as he draws away gives him a quick nip on the ear. They appear several times in the video laughing, waving and pulling funny faces at the cameras.

I clicked on this thread thinking that maybe the match got heated and the players had a fight and someone bit an ear!

That would have been preferable to whatever weirdness is going on here.

Exactly what I was expecting.

Hope the lad will be okay and the police investigate thoroughly.

In the video posted below the man leans in and speaks into the child's ear and when moving away nips his ear with his teeth.
There is no licking of faces in the video.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2024 11:01

i dont see any licking or anything sexual but it isnt a nice way to treat your child imo

I assume, as the video has been widely shared unpixelated, it will be easy for the man and the boy - almost certainly related and/or known to one another, to be identified.

The police are commented to say that they are aware of the video and will investigate further.

I suspect the child could easily be identified by school staff, family friends, etc.

Hopefully all is well.

YouAndMeAndThem · 27/04/2024 11:11

If you cannot see the, at best, Inappropriateness of this clip... Wow. It's horrendous, makes my skin crawl.

Wishitsnows · 27/04/2024 11:13

Just watched that and yes it is disturbing. I hope the boy is ok. The man definitely changed his demeanour when he noticed the camera. He didn’t do it in a playing around manner. No doubt many will down play this even when it’s in plain sight.

Longma · 27/04/2024 11:16

Whilst it seems inappropriate from the short clip, it's much better the video isn't shared unpixelated and it is left for those in authority to investigate, not for random people to share and make assumptions hours after the event, and after the police have commented they are aware. The latter will not help the child - whose image is now widely shared across social media - regardless of what the situation is.

The sharing of that child's image across public social media is concerning.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2024 11:41

social media is just going too far

I feel sorry for the boy because even if there is the remotest chance an innocent explanation (I can't think of one) he's going to get robbed about it at school and perhaps things could even turn nasty.

If abuse is uncovered he's lost his anonymity.

penjil · 27/04/2024 12:02

It was just the kid's dad dicking about in front of the cameras.....

I'm sure whoever reported it was a complete busybody, and Soth Yorkshire police won't take any further action in what was a bit of fun between father and son.

Stop clutching you pearls.

That is creepy footage. I see on YouTube, where the uncensored version is, that people are trying to say it's the mans wife, who looks male and childlike!!! Anyone can see it's a young male ffs!
Let's hope the police can get to the bottom of this. Nothing about that looks innocent, even if it's his child, who does that?!

1offnamechange · 27/04/2024 12:10

On the face of it it seems weird but haven't there been enough examples that show how dangerous 'trial by social media,' is?

There are lots of things that other families do that I personally find weird - parents and children who kiss each other on the mouths, families who are happy being completely naked around each other (after the children are school age or older), people who don't close the door when they are on the toilet, etc.

BUT I recognise that other families do things differently and what seems weird to me is completely normal in other families, as long as both parties don't mind it.

So if I saw a grown man kissing a 12 year old girl on the mouth I probably would instinctively think 'yuck' because it's so far from my experience and I couldn't imagine doing that to my dad/daughter. BUT I wouldn't jump straight into 'incestual peodophile!'

Very dangerous attitude and exactly how child abuse goes unreported and carries on get into the real world there is no way that was harmless fun kids need protecting

That's exactly how I interpreted it too. He wasn't thinking he would be in shot and then realised and pretended it was fun ! Disgusting creep

The man was visibly startled when he realised he was being filmed and then started wobbling his head about and grinning to try and make the situation lighthearted.

AIstolemylunch · 27/04/2024 12:29

He clearly kicks him first before biting his ear. Some of you need to get your glasses prescription updated.

AIstolemylunch · 27/04/2024 12:32

Licks not kicks

AhBiscuits · 27/04/2024 12:44

It's creepy AF. If it was just a bit silliness I'd have expected the child to be laughing.

But several people have said these two were on camera for at least 10 minutes before this incident and were laughing and waving at the camera, so he did know he was on camera.

I don’t like the interaction at all, I’m not one for physical “jokes” but maybe it is innocent.
