Abhorrent comments made about a persons height

Calling someone who is below the average height, "pint-sized" is abhorrent
at the very least. A person's height is beyond the person's control and calling them "pint-sized," some may even say it's an ableist comment

Yesterday, during the PMQ's the lead was taken by the deputy heads of both Tories and Labour. Standing in for the Labour leader was Angela Rayner. She called the Tory leader, Rishi Sunak a "pint-sized leader" when she was losing the arugument

This reminds me of clowns at work who had nicknames for other people who did not fit in with their agenda. Often people will make disparaging comments about another when they feel threatened because of their own inadequacies.
Should she apologise for making these disgusting comments?

Exactly. Any woman who has the grit, determination and self belief to achieve what she has is to be admired.

They’re all as bad as one another. Plenty of comments about her being a rough chav have been made before now.

I watched it live and that’s how I took it. I am very small so perhaps more sensitive than most about height jokes and I didn’t take it like that.

Not at all, just pointing out that her position elevates her and her behaviour, which is basic, to the point that some people find it admirable.
The fact is, that if she didn't have her position, she wouldn't get anybody fawning at her "wit" for calling somebody pint sized.

I've obviously missed the threads of outrage made on Angela's behalf at the atrocious, contemptuous, misogynistic language and misleading statements she is constantly subject to by the Tory scum. How can that be?

Yes. Look at the focus and effort in her. It is a backhanded compliment. Why would they otherwise bother with someone they claim is so stupid and limited? They are frightened.

Angela Rayner does not care about picking up Tory votes. But in this impressive display she is not only talked about, the focus is off the investigation, and Labour look confident. Parliament is theatre. She is a confident player and Dowden was not. An opposition can always do this because it has no record to defend. Dowden needed a lot of successes to avoid this kind of dynamic.

It's Angela Rayner. What do you expect?
