Or does this Labour Party meme display all we need to regarding about how they feel about women?

Those silly little women. Apart from the ones with penises. They’re just like us men.

OP posts:
ButterflyBarista · 19/04/2024 20:01

That is absolutely horrendous. Wow.

Yes women are suspicious harridens with no cogent thoughts, whereas men are thinking sensible creatures.

Unbelievable.

You are massively overthinking that

Brexile · 19/04/2024 20:04

Good grief.

user1471517900 · 19/04/2024 20:04

Yeah that's a very well used meme. You've massively managed to twist that. It's almost impressive.

shellyleppard · 19/04/2024 20:06

That meme has been used in so many things.... usually Cornish pasties on Facebook 🤣

user1471517900 · 19/04/2024 20:06

The advert itself is a really terrible one as it looks like it's been written by somebody who hasn't had a normal conversation in their life.

But it's not anti-women.

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2024 20:06

Wow that's so bad

TinySaltLick · 19/04/2024 20:07

It's a well known meme who anyone on twitter would recognise, it's just the Labour social account trying to engage with a younger audience via this method

Penguinmouse · 19/04/2024 20:07

It’s a very common meme. People getting upset about it are just not online enough to understand it.

Sunquest · 19/04/2024 20:09

I'm no fan of Starmer but that's a well known meme. I like how the OP has to get her usual Trans dig in though.

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2024 20:10

I think everyone knows the meme but it's still shite

Youcannotbeseriousreally · 19/04/2024 20:11

I’ve never voted labour in my life but now the way they completely disregard women I hope no women ever votes for them ever again.

they are all shit , BUT , no. I don’t work hard to for a career for the Labour Party to treat me like a second class citizen.

You going to vote Tory then. You think Rishi gives a shit about women after todays speech?

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 19/04/2024 20:12

Meanwhile in the real world Rishi Sunak has today announced plans to strip GPs of the ability to sign people off work due to mental health crises. A policy that will disproportionately affect women.

It's shite in my opinion because my first reaction was to see it as misogynist - I don't care if it's a "well known" image used in various memes, or if they're trying to be "edgy".

There's an implication that the woman is just thinking suspicious, female thoughts while the man is thinking fine, responsible thoughts.

I’ve not decided. I’d like to vote Lib Dem. But it won’t make a difference. Tbh ( and MN will hate this) I’m screwed in the middle. The Labour Party offers nothing for me general and nor do the Tories really. But I’m never ever voting labour. They don’t even need women, they think men can do a better job of being women than women. It’s a firm no from me.

Exactly

But oh no, labour have posted a shitty meme

ATerrorofLeftovers · 19/04/2024 20:15

Just because something’s used a lot, doesn’t make it any less egregious.

It’s particularly ill-timed at present, given the spotlight on the misogyny that’s been so rife within Labour. Really ham-fisted of the Labour comms team to let this one through.

It’s possible for most of us to hold more than one thought, opinion or belief at any one time! Also possible to post on numerous threads. Try it!!

AdultReindeer · 19/04/2024 20:17

It's a meme template. Untwist your tits.

JaneJeffer · 19/04/2024 20:24

Exactly @VickyEadieofThigh

KestrelMoon · 19/04/2024 20:25

I don’t care that it’s from a very common meme when the meme is clearly sexist and derogatory towards women. It perpetuates the western cultural stereotype that women are incapable of higher thought and will only think about domestic trivia, children and love affairs.

ghostyslovesheets · 19/04/2024 20:25

Honestly - it's shit and quiet sexist!

Won't stop me voting Labour though - working with families in crisis I can't allow this show of snivelling twats in for another 4 years.
