Exactly. I don’t care whether it’s a popular meme - it’s unbelievably derogatory towards women and it has no place in a political party’s campaigning strategy.

We’re going to reach the point soon where someone adapts a Benny Hill video and we’ll all be expected to find it amusing.

That is horribly sexist and whoever put it up needs firing.

But it is by no means a summing up of the Labour party in its entirety, however much you want it to be.

I'm guessing the script was created by a young man - it's regressive and offensive IMO. I'm a Labour member and I don't think it represents what our party should be about. If it's supposed to be targeted at a younger audience then I imagine plenty of young, female potential voters would be insulted.

That they no longer bother is of major importance to me and should be to all women. They need challenging on this.

It's an annoying, sexist meme... but it's just a meme. I've mostly seen it talking about various historical periods and wars.

Political parties post stuff like this to look 'down with the kids'. I wish they wouldn't, but this is no big deal. Blame society for thinking women don't have an inner voice, not Labour.

The Lib Dems, unfortunately, don't know what a woman is either.

I've put in an official complaint about that post. If more people do the same instead of just posting on MN, we might get somewhere.

Of course there's always the option of doing both.

The got the Cass report done, which is a start. They've finally got a commitment to stop prescribing puberty blockers to children.

And what else are they doing apart from that? Taking benefits away from women with MH problems? Helping women feed their kids? providing affordable housing? Making the NHS work?

This "Labour don't know what a woman is" thing is a massive smokescreen. I can't believe so many on here are falling for it. Story after story detailing more and more Tory sleaze, and corruption, and condoning of racism, but that's OK because the Tories "know what a woman is". I despair, I really do.

Offensive though to assume other women are too dim to see what class of people have been, and will continue to be, adversely affected by Tory policy. Labour created this issue for themselves. I didn't need any help from the Tories 5 years ago when I left the Labour Party BECAUSE they don't care about women's issues.

I don't believe any such thing about the Tories - it's not either or for me.

The GC lot are all about safe guarding children. I don't see much safe guarding about children in poverty though.

I really don't understand the mentality that thinks it's ok that women (female pople) are expected to suck up being literally undefined as a distinct political and social group as the price we have to pay for defeating the Tories.

Would the same posters demand people ignore racism or anti Semitism for the greater good? Indeed, why isn't it trans identifying people being told to park their needs for now and trust they'll be treated fairly at some unspecified later date? Why is it just women being told there are more important things to worry about than their political and social rights so just shut up and submit?
