Radical Feminsts

AIBU in noticing a increase in radical feminism on MN?

I'm not talking regular old feminism where equal rights are the goal, I'm sure we can all agree on that being important.

But there is a level of extremism emerging that goes from dizzying entitlement to outright man hating.

What gives?

I'll have some pringles and a bottle of wine please

DH has been at the rum again so if there's room; a nice Guatemalan, Nicaraguan or Salvadorean rum please. Not that I'm fussy, innit.

BabbityBumble · 19/04/2024 15:30

Dunno, surely it depends who gets the last rolo. If it's you and not dh it's a form of misandry.

Oh, I'll eat them all.

He won't even get one, never mind the last one.

That is, if the OP remembers to bring them for me.

@TheShellBeach

Should I be worried that I prefer rolos to men?!

BabbityBumble · 19/04/2024 15:36

Look guys you gotta keep these orders clean and not man hating.
No cream eggs or dairy milk for goodness sake. You know how misandrist any items that point to female reproduction are.
Now behave yourselves and resume hive mind screensaver mode till op is back from Londis.

Not by radical feminists, though.

Examples of man hating on MN:

'I don't like men either, and I find this quite hard to reconcile with my conscience, because I have a son who I adore, and I'd cut off any man that said he "didn't like women" - it would be the biggest red flag ever to me, so I don't know why I hate sexism so much but am fine with Misandry'

'They're only any good for shagging really. Warmer than a vibrator. I prefer the company of women, prefer working with women, and most definitely prefer living with women.'

'I don’t like men, even though I’m married to one. I find them pathetically base, like they’re somehow less evolved than us. I don’t like feeling that way, because I know it’s not quite fair, especially now that I have a son, but I don’t know how to overcome it.AllI can do is try not to show it.'

More to follow, I'm just nipping out.

Hmm.

Please define what you mean by

  • level of extremism emerging
  • radical feminism
  • dizzying entitlement
  • outright man hating
  • anything in between

I’ve not seen anything so far. One or two paras stating the posters are pissed off with men does not extremism make. You’d find it tricky to support your (currently) extremely vague hypotheses in a PhD. Though you’ve still not defined radical feminism or levels of extremism emerging or dizzying entitlement in any way, so it is tricky to say.

I prefer all chocolate to men.

what are they?

I'd call that dizzying entitlement.

Except I regularly snaffle whole bags of Discos when DH is out.

Omg. Discos (S&V) and Rolos. That is an amazing combination.

Theuglynaillady · 19/04/2024 15:40

TheShellBeach · 19/04/2024 15:37

I prefer all chocolate to men.

I don’t know… I’m reasonably fond of my son but I HATE Cadbury fruit and nut… but then ds is definitely still a ‘boy’, not a man. It’s all a bit tricky.

I would swap all the men for a box of walnut whips however. That much I’m sure of!

takemeawayagain · 19/04/2024 15:40

I hate rolos nearly as much as I hate men. They're both too chewy. Does that make me a radical feminist?
I can vouch for men being warmer than a vibrator though. Mind you I like to run mine under cold water before I use it (vibrator that is, not man), can't really warm your feet on a vibrator though even if you haven't run it under cold water.

Twix?

No there's two fingers there. Could refer to using non penis methods of penetration.
It's a grey area I'm uncomfortable straying into.
How about a nice Tunnocks instead? 😇

MrsCrumPinnett · 19/04/2024 15:41

Remember that McCain advert where the girl had to choose? “Daddy or chips?”

It's not Terry's, the misogynistic pig, it's mine!

That doesn't read like any radical feminist theory/analysis I've ever read.

I don't know much about radical feminism but I do like fluffy kittens.
Perhaps op, you could help by bullet pointing what you perceive to be problematic radical feminism and we can try and use our collective pink lady hive mind to understand. (Everyone, stop thinking about lipstick and prams and concentrate).
Go on op. Dazzle.me.

Im not an aficionado of men (being the aforementioned radical lesbian feminist)… which bit is chewy?!

Pretty radical. Come on be reasonable. You can soften them by the fire.

Blackcats7 · 19/04/2024 15:49

If you can find threads where women say they agree with rape or murder of men then please pop back OP.
If not be grateful to the women who have fought (and are still fighting in these bizarre days) to get you the freedoms you currently enjoy or else you would still only be allowed to make the tea at work before you dashed home to have hubbys dinner ready for him so he didn’t give you an entirely legal slap. That’s if you weren’t barefoot and pregnant chained to the stove of course.

I couldn't possibly tell you, you sound like an extremist as per the OP's definition.
