AIBU in noticing a increase in radical feminism on MN?

I'm not talking regular old feminism where equal rights are the goal, I'm sure we can all agree on that being important.

But there is a level of extremism emerging that goes from dizzying entitlement to outright man hating.

What gives?

These types of posts full of faux wide eyed concern are getting really tedious.

As a radical feminist I WhatsApped my DH my wordle results and arranged to meet my son for brunch at the weekend. They both know I'm gender critical. But our relationships are healthy enough to cope with it.

I thought you sent the ANSWER to Wordle to your DH. That would be man-hating. That's a barricade I'd man. [see what I did there] Grin

Prime example:

And BTW 'equality' would be us killing 2-3 men a week

Is that it, as far as examples go?
Got any more?
Because I haven't noticed any such phenomenon.

Concern? Hardly. An observation, yes.

I'm quite proud I'm the only example right now. Hopefully OP gives up while I'm special.

I’m hoping OP is a man, to be honest. The thought of a woman writing such claptrap is really quite depressing.

Yep.
And I'm not convinced that the OP is a woman, anyway.

Well come on - what have you observed?

I've got my husband's washing to do.

Examples of man hating on MN:

'I don't like men either, and I find this quite hard to reconcile with my conscience, because I have a son who I adore, and I'd cut off any man that said he "didn't like women" - it would be the biggest red flag ever to me, so I don't know why I hate sexism so much but am fine with Misandry'

'They're only any good for shagging really. Warmer than a vibrator. I prefer the company of women, prefer working with women, and most definitely prefer living with women.'

'I don’t like men, even though I’m married to one. I find them pathetically base, like they’re somehow less evolved than us. I don’t like feeling that way, because I know it’s not quite fair, especially now that I have a son, but I don’t know how to overcome it.AllI can do is try not to show it.'

More to follow, I'm just nipping out.

No idea what you think you've found using search.

Nothing.

Can you link the thread op, only this looks suspiciously like a thread that was taken down as not in good faith a few weeks back.

I remember it because it was obviously written by a man pretending to be a feminist.

Can I add a Yorkie bar to my order please?

TheShellBeach · 19/04/2024 15:26

I prefer the company of women, prefer working with women, and most definitely prefer living with women

Expressing a preference for the female sex does not equate to man-hating.

HTH

Agree. I wonder if OP is one of those people who apparently don't exist, but drop in to provoke discussions which create screenshots which are then posted elsewhere, to be used against this community later? Surely not?

blackcherryconserve · 19/04/2024 15:27

The meaning of radical is 'that which goes beyond moderation or even to excess in opinion, belief, action, etc.' = extreme imo

Can you get me some Rolos, a pint of milk and a bottle of sherry. Thanks.

ghostyslovesheets · 19/04/2024 15:29

Context is everything OP - unless you can link to the thread we have no idea what these posts are about

If I said, on a thread about another violent man killing his partner - 'God I HATE men sometimes - and you just posted 'look at this one ''God I HATE men''' then it's taken totally out of context.

I often do hate men because of their behaviour

I was feeling that I might have missed something quite significant while over on the Royal Family board.

Dunno, surely it depends who gets the last rolo. If it's you and not dh it's a form of misandry.

Those quotes aren’t related to radical feminism. Look up radical feminism and see what it’s about. It’s nothing to do with three random comments on an online forum.

Having started a thread, they have decided to go out.

Wonder why.

Yes. But not because they're men. Obviously.

Ooh OP you’ve poked the wasps nest 😂

I understand what you mean though. Some very scary attitudes displayed on mumsnet.
