so, what do you think? has this worked for you? Would you do it again? What mistakes should I avoid? What tips to make it successful. They are being evicted, and are planning on staying here around a year, while they get some savings together - both work full time.

I agree with @MMAS They will never leave - why would they ? Your home becomes theirs once baby arrives and you will be the interloper.

There's absolutely no reason for them to move out. Why would they move into a another tiny bedsit and pay bills, when they can live in a 3 bed house with a garden for free. Confused

Course it can!

We did it, we moved in with my MIL when my youngest was 3 months old, and we lived there 6 months. We had 2 older kids too; aged 3 and 4. 3 bed home 1 bathroom. We all 5 lived in one little bedroom. It was supposed to be 3 weeks- as our builders told us- but ultimately we got the keys to our home after 6 months.

It was crazy!!! But it was fine, too. We were incredibly grateful for the huge sacrifice she made in having us there and that helped us keep focus of the bigger picture when we were rubbing each other up the wrong way. A few tense moments, but we rode them out and are closer for it.

My MIL and I were having a good laugh about it last week- it's all lovely memories now.
