Does your uni aged children know who Heather Mills is?

Heather Mills was constantly in the media in the 2000’s as the wife of Sir Paul McCartney. If you was to ask your DC at uni or in their 20’s who she was would they know who she is? And what she was known for?

People like Lizzy Cundy are. Look too at Coleen Rooney and Rebecca Vardy. Nobody would have heard of them if they weren't footballers wives.

I was at university with a girl called Nancy whose dad was in a famous band in the 80s before any of us were born. Nobody gave tuppence when her parents came to meet her or when they went to the graduation. When we found out who her dad was we weren't really bothered because it felt irrelevant. I know who he is now because he was on the sofa with Dermot and Alison and has done a tour.

I care about her. She was shockingly treated by the press - and the public, lots of disgusting jokes about her amputation throughout her marriage to Paul. I hope she's well and happy, and if she's planning any new media projects, I wish her the very best.

I had a boyfriend at university whose dad was the lead in a big seventies rock band. I wasn't even slightly interested. I agree with you that it just feels irrelevant. I'd be fascinated now!

He adopted her so to all intents and purposes she's as much as his daughter as her biological siblings

She was a non entity then so not even reaching the level of non entity now. Tbh many uni students won't even know who Paul McCartney is so why would they know someone who was with him for 10 mins

If I saw a "Heather Mills" event at my university, I would think it was the actress who was either in "The Railway Children" or "Whistle Down the Wind". I should think that Heather Mills is about the same age (boomer generation).

This is the most random question on here for a while, but yes, when I go into uni halls the walls are literally covered with posters of Heather Mills. They think she is a legend.

You didn't say she was vilified and treated appallingly by the press but you said plenty of other stuff about her. That nobody cared and that she should go away.

Heather Mills has achieved far more good things than most people have. She's worked with landmine charities.

How much Paul McCartney loves a daughter who happens to have the same first name makes no difference to that.

I was just going to respond as I'd been quoted but you've already said it 😁. I know Rooney is a footballer and I've seen his wife mentioned (but wouldn't be able to pick her out of a lineup). Vardy I'm not so sure of and no idea about Cundy.

I'm just not interested in 'celebs'.

I'm 39. I recognised the name, but had to think fairly hard to bring up what she was "known" for.
She was a C list celeb back in the 90s. I imagine she'd barely register as anything these days.
I certainly wouldn't expect anyone much younger than me to have even heard of her.
