Does your uni aged children know who Heather Mills is?

Heather Mills was constantly in the media in the 2000’s as the wife of Sir Paul McCartney. If you was to ask your DC at uni or in their 20’s who she was would they know who she is? And what she was known for?

Who is she? Seriously, no one actually cares. Too many people in this world who think that they’re important enough to be known by everyone, where as in actual fact, 99% of people don’t care.

I'm in my 20s, I remember in the news her and Paul's divorce where she threw water over his solicitor.

I'm one of the evil Boomers, I thought the name was familiar from the title but needed the text to remind myself! Why should she be known? Are we supposed to know about all the exes of musicians?

Famous for marrying Paul McCartney then having a tantrum in court when he divorced her. Total non-entity. I’m in my mid 40s, and have no interest in hearing anything more from her again.

What is she going to do, tip some more water over a selection of barristers to get back in the news again?

I thought the divorce settlement must have included a 'keep out of the papers' clause.but maybe that's expired if their daughter is an adult?

Wasn't she exposed as a pathological liar? I seem to remember the judge in the divorce labelled her a fantasist, and then some years later her publicist did the same thing. She also claimed to have given much of her divorce money to charity which was subsequently debunked.

Well I'm mid 20s and know who Heather Mills is. I also know very well who Arthur Mullard is and Hylda Baker is one of my favourites, I often quote her. Haven't got a clue who most contemporary celebrities are though, they're of no interest to me.

My 18yo has no idea.

I am of the correct age to remember media coverage though, so I know who she is.

She threw a jug of water over Paul Mc's barrister's head at one point during the divorce proceedings.
Stella Mc hated her and apparently designed some amputee mocking jewellery.

I gave my seventeen year old a very quick synopsis of the water jug and patchwork suit incident as it's parodied in the IT crowd.

It was more like 'there was this woman who was married to this dead famous musician and when they got divorced she wore a clown like patchwork suit and threw a jug of water over the head of the fancy barrister who left court dripping wet but stylishly'

I don't think it would lead her to know who HMM is or to recognise her.

I very much doubt they’d know, but in all honesty she wasn’t that famous was she (other than marrying Paul McCartney)?? Not a hugely relevant celeb?

I am in my 50s, if you said Heather Mills to me I would have no idea who you were talking about initially. Mention Paul McCartney and it starts to ring bells, but I had to google to remind myself why she was a "celeb" beyond being married to Paul McCartney for a short time.

At a push ds(20) might know who Paul McCartney is, not from home though as he doesn't often come up in conversation!

Why would he know who Heather Mills was? Has she been in the media again recently where teens would notice?

I wouldn't have said she was a celebrity in the traditional sense at all before she met Paul McCartney but she had worked with land mine charities in a significant way and also she set up a scheme where prisoners fixed up prosthetic limbs that people no longer needed and had them sent to somewhere in Eastern Europe.

The only Heather linked to Paul McCartney who people care about is Linda's daughter Heather who Paul adopted in 1969 after their wedding. No one cares about Heather Mills who married Paul for fame and money. Go away Heather.

People who she's helped get a prosthetic limb might care about her more than they do someone who whips up some pots.

I don't think it's particularly reasonable to compare two women just because they share a first name.

I don't think it's easy to refute that Heather Mills has achieved many things during her life.

Also, she did and has gone away. She has lived quietly. She hasn't paraded her daughter about the place or pushed herself forward much at all.

I don't think she ever came across as particularly likeable but I don't think it's fair to say nobody cares about her just because she does charity work rather than going on I'm a celebrity etc.

I knew of her long before that. She was a model.

I have absolutely no idea about Heather McCartney. I couldn't tell you one thing about her at all. I could probably list twenty things I know about Heather Mills without any effort at all.

I haven't heard of him. I'm in my 30s.

I’d never heard of him so looked up his Wikipedia entry.

If that’s all true (domestic violence and child sex abuse), it’s probably best no one remembers him.

I do remember Heather Mills, but Paul McCartney hasn’t really been relevant for years so wasn’t that interested!

And how did Stella get away with not being cancelled for that I wonder? How would such jewellery go down at the local craft and flea would you think? Whatever you think of Heather Mills (I have no views on her) that is absolutely appalling.
