Does your uni aged children know who Heather Mills is?

Heather Mills was constantly in the media in the 2000’s as the wife of Sir Paul McCartney. If you was to ask your DC at uni or in their 20’s who she was would they know who she is? And what she was known for?

Who is she? I don't think most people know.

Is@luxurylotal going to come back and tell us why it matters?

No they wouldn’t.
They also don’t get most of the simpsons guest star references. We have a lot of conversations starting with “well they were reallllly famous …”.
Then I get a bit depressed when I look them up and they’re now realllly old…

Not a clue. It is 7 weeks til finals, not sure my Dd would appreciate me calling to ask such a vacuous question.

Paul McCartney was married for a long time to Linda. He adored her and he was very happily married. She was a vegetarian before it was as common as it is today. For many years Linda McCartney's range of veggie food was the stand by for veggies in the UK. Very sadly, she died of breast cancer and Paul was distraught.
Heather Mills was a young, very attractive model who had lost her leg in an accident. She was Northern and feisty. Paul and Heather married. They had a daughter. It soon became clear that Heather was volatile and not at all the person Paul wanted her to be. I imagine the accident involving the loss of her leg was hugely traumatic. When their divorce was announced, the media published lots of negative stories about her. Paul stepped in and told the press to leave her alone. Heather behaved badly during the divorce process and she threw water over his lawyer in court. Since then, Paul has remarried and he is happy. His children and family are close and very important to him. His daughter with Heather is very much part of his family.
Heather has had a series of unfortunate relationships and failed business ventures.
I am not Paul or Heather but I am old enough to remember now messed up Heather was after the divorce.
I do love Paul, he is a remarkable man and he has stayed true to his roots. He is pop royalty.

She was on a documentary recently-ish as a 'talking head' person. I couldn't take my eyes off her because her face was totally frozen solid. Not a tiny bit of movement anywhere. If she's thinking of touring universities they will assume she is ancient so it's probably not worth the effort. Stay at home Heather. Pop your feet up love.

No idea who she is. So her claim to fame is that she married and divorced an exBeatle 20 years ago? My Uni age DC dont even know who the Beatles are! 🫣

There was a documentary with her on recently. I couldn't remember what it was about, just that she was on it. You have jogged my memory. It was about their marriage. It reminded me a lot of the Harry and Meghan situation. A lot of what Heather said Meghan also said years later. Paul came across as nice but bumbling. They met when Heather was doing high profile charity work. She'd never heard of him ( yeah right), she dazzled him. It was all very similar. His children saw straight through her .

Come off it OP, she had brief period of being in the news and then dropped back into obscurity!

Why on earth would anyone under 30 have any memory of her?!

I'm 40 and not ideal who she is! Just asked DD as well and she has no clue.

Ds2 is 26 , he knows about the Beatles and listens to the albums and is a big fan, but ask him about Heather Mills or the other partners of the Fab Four and nothing ! He knows who Yoko is, but then it goes vague.
I think Heather had a child with Paul , she must be getting on now.
I don't really believe that Heather didn't know who Paul McCartney was though! I'm surprised he wasn't insulted a bit by that one tbh

I’m just over uni age, graduated a couple of years ago, I know who she is but only because I’m a very big Beatles fan. It never came up in conversation but I don’t think anyone else did know of her.

Same. I'd heard the name, but no idea. I don't much care for celebrity and don't tend to remember things like that. There's zero chance my teens would have a clue.

Heather, you were never famous in your own right. You were once married to Paul McCartney and had a high profile divorce but that's it.

Wasn't the daughter called Beatrice or Beatrix ? Heather made the Daily Mail quite a bit for all the wrong reasons then disappeared.
