To want every women in England to vote Tory at the GR

1000 replies

Hurrydash · 28/03/2024 02:01

So I don't agree with Angela Rayner's description of the Tories as scum, but I get her drift and if she'd been more tempered in her language I probably would have bought in.

HOWEVER

For me - and actually should be got everyone - the only real issue at the next GE is freedom of speech/women's rights.

I see Labour as the destroyer of these and so must vote against them. The only meaningful way to do this is to vote Tory which I am reluctant but prepared to do.

Is this unreasonable?

Happy to be convinced - for real not just words - if there is evidence Labour (Starmer 1 in 1000 women have a dick) may see the light before the GE.

All this nonsense is LITERALLY happening under the Tories watch. They’ve been in power for the last 14 years - they created the conditions for this mess. The only reason they ‘know what a woman is’ is to fuck them over even more. They are not fighting against the claptrap - they are creating the claptrap. They’re not some innocent bystander clutching their pearls - It’s their laws under their watch. They are culpable.

LawrieForShepherdsBoy · 28/03/2024 02:39

This is only an issue for a few. A lot of those few spend a lot of time on MN. Where they talk about it a lot.

YANBU, Labour have also said they won’t extend the childcare funding as nurseries don’t have the staff but haven’t put forward an alternative or realised that demand will create supply. Yet again policies that don’t support women. Heaven help our rights when Labour do get in.

They are intending to look at reworking the whole industry including staffing and costs. And the including the two year olds in an affordable and open manner.

SayFuckTheLemonsAndBail · 28/03/2024 02:42

I'd rather have a mouthful of shit and then slap myself.

Although I'd be hard pressed to notice the difference between that and more of the Tories.

Oh please, what even is this nonsense?

Or just concerned about women's rights?

No evidence from you about why I am naive.

Typical of anti women's rights activists.

If we're going to make this election a single issue can we make it this one?

"There were 4.2 million children living in poverty in the UK in 2021/2022. That is one in three children. Around 350,000 more children were pushed into poverty last year, according to the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG)."

1 in 3 children in our country are living in poverty. 1 in 3 😱

Obsessed single issue voters don't care about that.

silverneedle · 28/03/2024 02:54

Huge inequality generally, decimated public services, inflated housing market, big rise in child poverty and much less financial support for disabled pre 2010 means I will not vote Tory. Increasing awareness of risks of self ID across all parties too.

scoobysnaxx · 28/03/2024 02:59

QueenOfTheEntireFuckingUniverse · 28/03/2024 02:15

No fucking way.

This x10000000.

And there are many other issues apart from 'the gender thing'.

No one should ever vote Tory in my opinion.

YABFU.

Edited

And forgot to add underfunded NHS and economic damage of Brexit.

Pinkbonbon · 28/03/2024 03:12

The thing is...the tories say one thing...until you have elected them. Then three seconds after that, they backtrack the fuck out of it.

I would abstain from voting/waste a vote on a smaller party personally. That's what Ill be doing with the snp now. I want to support them like I used to but they are backing too much of this woke shit. Labour are too. So I likely won't be voting for the foreseeable future.

Underthinker · 28/03/2024 03:12

I think the conservative party have been in power too long, and through a mixture of austerity, brexit, covid handling and various other smaller mistakes they have upset too many people to hold on.

Having said all that, I think laws around gender ideology and women's rights are at a pivotal point. On this single issue I think the Tories are moving in the right direction whereas Labour are likely to make catastrophic policy decisions.

I'll wait to see the manifestos to finally decide, but I predict I'll vote for neither main party this time.

(FWIW I'm male and have only ever voted Labour up till this point, but women's rights are an important issue for me)

You seriously believe that the Torys care about women’s rights? It’s called trying to desperately win over voters - in reality they couldn’t give a shit and you’re delusional to think that they do. Can’t call yourself a women’s rights activist when you believe that rubbish

Hurrydash · 28/03/2024 03:13

Wow!

Loads of stuff from Labour supporters highlighting how rubbish the Tories have been.

Yes agreed.

BUT

What are Labour's policies on women's rights??

Take a look and come back with something positive - if you can.

ImpendingDoom1 · 28/03/2024 03:16

Lol.

Ah yes, the tories, beacons of light in supporting women, and never implementing any kind of policies which would disadvantage them. Not to mention that they would NEVER be involved in any kind of scandal involving sexual abuse, rape, or adultery. Not only that, but our economy is booming, public services are plentiful and well maintained, equality within society has never been better, and the wellbeing of people in the UK is at an all time high. I mean you’d be an idiot not to vote for them, wouldn’t you?

BelfastBelle05 · 28/03/2024 03:18

ilovesooty · 28/03/2024 02:51

Obsessed single issue voters don't care about that.

Because nothing says women’s rights like record gynaecology waiting lists and lack of access to appropriate care after 14 years of Tory underfunding 👏

BelfastBelle05 · 28/03/2024 03:20

Margritte · 28/03/2024 02:32

I agree. I just know how irritated I'll get as I get sucked into countless Tory-bot threads!

The second one today.. we don’t even have an election date yet and this rubbish is already being spewed all over MN

Seaitoverthere · 28/03/2024 03:26

I much preferred this place back in the days before political parties decided to to use it as an election campaign ground, it is as others have said going to be a nightmare between now and the election.

OP this is a desperate attempt, completely transparent and completely ridiculous.

Hurrydash · 28/03/2024 03:27

I am not a bot. Would have got the title right ie GE not GR if I was. Typo.

Just shit scared of a Labour government.

But looking at the posts below I am now even more scared.

AIBU?

PS can't sleep!

If you'd bothered to read the responses some of us are saying that we feel women's rights are not the issue which will primarily drive the decision of most of the electorate. Not to mention the fact that that the Tories don't care about anyone's rights, let alone the rights of women.

WaitingForMojo · 28/03/2024 03:32

Hell will freeze over first, OP, sorry.

The NHS is crumbling, people are dying in hospital corridors and at home waiting to be seen. Education is a mess and SEN provision is being cut all the time. The most vulnerable in society are being left to fend for themselves. And you want everyone to vote Tory in case a trans woman wants a wee in the ladies’.

Some people.

ilovesooty · 28/03/2024 03:34

just shit scared of a Labour government

Sure. It's going to be much worse than this one 🙄
