How hideous are these trainers really, in your opinion?

My partner isn't normally the least bit concerned about what I wear but really truly despises these trainers, will ask me not to wear them, says they're hideous!🤣
I don't think they're so bad? I'm not really someone who wears trainers unless I'm at the gym but I do occasionally put these on to just nip to the shop or such. DP is seriously offended by them!

The main horror of them is how filthy and scruffy they are. I would be absolutely mortified if my DH came out with me with trainers in that state. I have no problem with him wearing red trainers if he wishes.

I love my trainers - have them in every colour. Especially love white ones in the summer with dresses. What DH thinks of my footwear choices is irrelevant although he often wears them to work as well.

They're OK, if you like them that's what matters.

My husband and and I would never think to criticise each other over our clothes and shoes. The most I do is gently suggest something smarter like a shirt or nice jumper if we're going out for lunch somewhere nice and he's put on a t shirt but he usually asks anyway. It would never occur to him to critique me!

That's what would bother me more than the actual trainers themselves!

Honestly I'm kinda weirded out by the colour combination, but that's also a me thing, certain colour combos make me feel peculiar. It wasn't too bad from the top but the white on the side really highlights the funny peachy colour 🤢. BUT your feet, your comfort, your shoes!

If DH had those I'd just not look at them, I wouldn't dream of stopping him from wearing them & I'd be furious if he intervened in my footwear habits.

I have pleather leggings. I wear them for dog walking as it means I don't need waterproof trousers. But they are spectacularly hideous, and I'd never intentionally go anywhere I might see someone I know! They also make me look like an over sized slug!
However I think for mooching days the trainers, leggings and socks are fine. Comfort before fashion is my MO!

I do wish people would get over what trainers look like, especially when they are actually being used to run. I always end up with the garish colours, but don’t care for 2 very good reasons:

1. they tend to be a lot cheaper
2. they tend to get covered in mud within the first 20 mins of life.

I think they'd be fine if they were cleaned up and paired with the right outfit. Like they're trainers you should make a statement with.

When they're scruffy and paired with those trousers and the blue stripy socks it doesn't look good. It looks kinda unkempt / ugly.

I don’t understand all the bitching about the trousers when that’s not what the post is about. The trainers are fine for dicking about in, aye they’re not high fashion but fine for going to the shops in!

They aren't my cup of tea, plus they're grubby, so YABU.

Yeah get where ur husband is coming from I don't like them... they look like kids shoes ...side view is worst than the birds eye view.

Trainers need a clean.

They are pretty bad and in need of a good clean as well. They must be quite bad as I didn’t notice the not so nice leggings either until someone pointed them out.

Trainers/socks/trousers combo = no bueno.
