AIBU to think lingerie is a good Valentine's gift?

So, my friend is pissed off with her bf (been together 8 months) for buying lingerie for as a valentine's present. She says it's a "present for him, not her!" She showed me a photo - it's expensive and classy not cheap and nasty.

I disagree, and I think it's a good present - better than some tacky cuddly toy or a bunch of red roses that will be dead by the end of the week! It shows your partner thinks you're hot and desires you sexually -that's surely a good thing and something you can enjoy together rather than it being "for him", especially when sex in so many relationships seems to be either crap or a rare occurrence, and so many men seem to have their heads turned by porn!

@Noideawwhatsoccuring your posts are too long, ranty and everyone should think your way...

It's getting boring!

Nothing in the post you answered and quoted said frigid!!!!!

@puzzledout 13:06 today, page 7 of this thread. There is a quoted post that uses the words 'frigid' and 'repressed'. They're in strike through, so it's not as if that poster even had the courage of their own convictions.

I find it intriguing, or perhaps more accurately depressing, that so many people on this thread think that liking lingerie and liking sex are one and the same thing and that they are so threatened by the idea of women enjoying sex without lingerie. It's very odd.

Your posts don’t even make sense.

You quoted me and claimed I said women couldn’t like dressing up and that men needed women to wear certain clothe for sex.

The quote that you used to ‘prove’ I said that, was a few lines long. Except I didn’t say that at all. But that didn’t stop you ranting. There’s not much I can do if a a few lines is too long for you to understand.

Lots of posts that really add up to ‘I didn’t read your post correctly and got defensive’.

Also I quoted the post that was misogynistic

Like most normal people that aren't frigid repressed MNers

It’s right at the top of my post. Which is 9 lines long. apologies if that’s too long for you. But You read my post. Got offended, because you didn’t read it properly, then decided me saying something is misogynistic was weird. But didn’t both to read the quote I was referring too?

Really?
