Threatening Amazon email?

I’ve been a loyal Amazon customer for years. Over the last 6 months I’ve had to report a number of missing parcels
as they keep being left on my doorstep which is on a the main road and not a safe place. Most parcels just get lifted round here as there are a lot of opportunistic thefts. I’ve updated Amazon on this so many times asking them to ensure they are not left on my
doorstep, but it still happens.
Following the latest missing parcel I received this today which reads as pretty threatening and as though I’m at fault? What should I reply? If anything? Or am I being unreasonable and just ignore?

Threatening Amazon email?

That’s not a threatening email at all. It’s a perfectly polite standard customer service email. If you don’t like the service provided by Amazon then stop shopping with them? Or get a lockbox, or use an Amazon delivery locker?

TrishTrix · 08/02/2024 11:15

@Serrates my experience is they won’t use a lock box.

The couriers go for the easiest option = dump on doorstep.
They don’t ring the bell
They don’t follow the instructions on my account about a safe place
They don’t follow the signage at the door about what to do with parcels.

The leadership team aren’t interested.

So the only thing to do is stop using them @Atlasstars1 .

yanbu. Amazon ignore me too! I tell them to leave them in my bin, yet they leave them behind my bin or on my doorstep :-/
my drill completely soaked as it was on my doorstep instead of in my dry bin.

Or half out of my letter box

Sorry I've not read the entire thread, just OP responses.

Although you've found the tone offensive, I think this is a standard template they send out in these situations. it's an opportunity to put your view directly to an account specialist at last instead of a series of random departments.

The two issues seem, from your post, to be poor local delivery practices and opportunistic thieves. It sounds like you have plenty of evidence of both, so it's probably worth sending it to this person and suggesting what you would like them to do.

It's worth keeping on at them. There seems to be a divide at the company between whether it's sold by Amazon itself or a private seller and the latter often means delays in refunds/actions. We once had to keep on and on at them over several months (with a written timeline - clearest way to explain all the orders/mishaps/reporting) to get a refund. We (thankfully) had all the proof and eventually, it was moved up to someone with authority to decide and we got the refund that day.

Good luck.

Or half out of my letter box

Tragic

sueelleker · 10/02/2024 15:56

Well, it would be if someone saw it sticking out and swiped it. If it fits the letterbox, why not just push it in? That's how my flat packages get delivered.

The point is there doesn't appear to be a safe place. So what on earth are the delivery drivers supposed to do.

Leave the parcel with the neighbour as instructed in the delivery notes.
