Threatening Amazon email?

Atlasstars1 · 07/02/2024 15:22

I’ve been a loyal Amazon customer for years. Over the last 6 months I’ve had to report a number of missing parcels
as they keep being left on my doorstep which is on a the main road and not a safe place. Most parcels just get lifted round here as there are a lot of opportunistic thefts. I’ve updated Amazon on this so many times asking them to ensure they are not left on my
doorstep, but it still happens.
Following the latest missing parcel I received this today which reads as pretty threatening and as though I’m at fault? What should I reply? If anything? Or am I being unreasonable and just ignore?

Don’t know what getting all get up means? but yes, i took PP's
advice and replied all the salient points stating how this is their issue with faulty drivers, not mine.

They haven’t refunded The last 2
parcels!

Seems to be a lot of defending going on here for a company that avoids paying the full amount of tax on it's UK profits. I'd say we are paying more for THAT, not because of OP's free replacement goods 4 times a year

Ah I didn’t realise this. I would report to bank/paypal then.

But again why keep using them?! They are providing shit customer service. You can waste a lot of time and effort arguing with a multi billion dollar corporation who do not give a shit or use one of the millions of other companies out there or use a fucking locker!

It was implied...and obvious to anyone with half a brain.

Fml, there's some dumbass posters on this thread.

Thank you; I presume you meant that to be insulting.
I trust you are nicer in real life.

I mean, you're not receiving what you ordered and you're not getting refunded. Regardless of who is right or wrong, why do you want to continue to order from this company?

NoMoreNaps · 07/02/2024 20:33

I’ve had the same with Amazon and think it’s absolutely shocking customer service. I had 3 parcels stolen just before Xmas 2 parcels completely ripped open and yet they blame the customer, yet it is their delivery drivers who leave them. I have expressed on my account not to leave in a safe place and they pay no attention to it, half the time they don’t even knock on the door.
I’m still trying to fight them for a £150 refund.

Also don’t get me started on the lockers, as I was getting so many parcels stolen or just left I requested other items to go to a locker for gifts and other items I bought for my Ds’s birthday, well the bloody locker got jammed and wouldn’t open and was told I would have to wait 24 hours for a technician to release it, by that time it would have been too late so I ended up having to drive around looking for a place that sold balloons.
They are now saying I collected the items and again refusing to give a refund, so I’m now nearly £200 out of pocket because of them, yet they try every card in my account to take their bloody prime money. 😡

Atethehalloweenchocs · 07/02/2024 20:35

Could you do a parcel drop point?

Why would it be insulting to you? I was agreeing that what you said about a note on the door implied that the risk was from passers by, not the delivers who would be knocking. Like I said, it was pretty obvious what you were saying.

I am extremely nice irl 😇😆, just irrated by some of the ridiculous comments on this thread. Think I'll hide it now to help my blood pressure!

Get a sign from eBay that states “please do not leave parcels on doorstep”. Blu tak it to your door when you’re expecting a parcel but won’t be home.

They don't take any notice of their own system that says to deliver to the neighbour if no one is home so why would they give a toss about a sign blu tacked to the door? They also don't wait to see if you're in!! They generally don't knock either. It's just left on the step, clearly this is how amazon drivers have been told to operate as they're all doing it and amazon are playing dumb and blaming customers. The majority of people on this thread seem to be ok with this shitty service as well!

Of course it isn't.

My apologies; I misunderstood.
Hope you bp is settling down.......!

PrudeyTwoShoes · 07/02/2024 20:47

I can see both point of views.

If your Amazon drivers are anything like ours, they nock on the door (if you're lucky) and leave the parcel. They don't wait for an answer so often parcels get left for hours if we're not home. They never bother to leave out of sight either. Fortunately we live in a nice neighbourhood where things don't tend to go missing. If you're area isn't like this, I can see your frustration.

However, I can understand their position in not wanting to have to refund/replace a large number of parcels. The message says to contact them within 30 days if you have any information.

I'd respond to explain that the drivers are leaving the parcels in unsafe locations that are visible from the road. I'd ask them to conform that drivers will leave the parcels in a designate safe place/the neighbour in future. You'll them have it all in writing if there's any future issues.

spanishviola · 07/02/2024 20:48

I had one missing parcel from Amazon when I was at home and sitting looking out of the window waiting for delivery as it was a large item. Never turned up. From that point on I’ve got everything delivered to the post office.

TeenyTinyWiney · 07/02/2024 20:49

I don't think their email is particularly horrible tbh... but amazon are a pain in the hole to deal with. It's because they're such a massive company, nobody who works for them really gives a fuck what customers think. They certainly aren't fighting for anyone's custom. Look how upset you are at the idea of not being allowed to spend your money with them! They don't care because they don't think they need to.

I imagine everything is done by numbers, so there will just be a threshold where they stop refunding your parcels and then where they eventually close your account. It's the same with returning audiobooks on Audible. They cut you off pretty quickly - I think you can maybe return 3? Then you can't do it unless you go through their chat thing. I've had this and it's so annoying. It's not like buying a book and not enjoying it as you can sell physical books on or donate them. I've closed my Audible account now as found this really irritating.

I avoid Amazon as much as possible but there is the odd thing I still buy from them as it's the easiest place to buy it. I do hate the company though and that's not even taking the tax thing into consideration.

MumblesParty · 07/02/2024 20:50

Surely this is easy to resolve. You have evidence that you have given details of a “safe place”, and you have evidence on your Ring doorbell of the delivery drivers ignoring this. You also have a record of having asked them not to leave parcels on your doorstep before. You explain this to Amazon, and ask if they would like to see this evidence. They’ve said the want to “work with you”, so that’s exactly what you can do. I would speak to someone rather than emailing. Ask them what you can do to resolve this issue.

filka · 07/02/2024 20:52

IncompleteSenten · 07/02/2024 15:51

That's a shame.

Maybe ask your neighbour if instead of parcels being delivered to you with her as leave with if not in, if you could put her down as your actual delivery address.

My sister orders things that she has delivered to my mum then my brother in law collects them from mum when he gets home from work.

I did that - much safer, if neighbour is amenable. Or use an Amazon locker. OP has viable options so this shouldn't be a big problem

WandaWonder · 07/02/2024 20:53

Wouldn't it be simpler to go the shops and buy in person, this seems bigger than the media surrounding King Charles

sayitkindly · 07/02/2024 20:53

@Atlasstars1 I unfortunately had the same problem especially in the lead up to Christmas even though delivery instructions are on my account and a note left in my door window where to place any deliveries I found parcels on my doorstep, thrown in my neighbours garden etc.
I found the email address for the CEO/Managing director and emailed him directly (I did apologise for the length of the email but wished to outline all the issues) He didn't respond personally but his exec team did and after several emails back and forth, fingers crossed, there have been no further problems.
The email address is publicly available on a website ceoemail.com but I have included it here good luck!

I WFH, very often Amazon parcels are simply chucked onto the front doorstep they don’t even bother to ring to see if I’m in - which I always am.

pimplebum · 07/02/2024 21:02

It's not threatening

Get parcels delivered to work or a locker

theduchessofspork · 07/02/2024 21:02

If your parcels keep going missing you need to use a pick up place.

Obviously they can’t keep sending stuff to your home if it’s being nicked.
