To be sick of vapes everywhere

I can’t seem to go anywhere these days without a white cloud of disgusting candy flavoured vapour being blown in my face. It’s gotten to a point where I truly believe that it’s worse than smoking - at least most smokers are well aware that it’s an anti-social behaviour and do it away from other people, and outdoors! With vapers there seem to be absolutely no boundaries or thought that not everyone wants to be covered in their chemical smoke.

Absolutely horrible habit that’s catching on to far too many young children. A ban can’t come soon enough - even my 19 year old DD is sick of her friends being addicted to them. They’re like dummies in some cases, never out of their mouths!

@MaloneMeadow she's not the first one. An old colleague told me how bad vapes were as she was on one of her 40 cigs a day...

I hate it too and just cigarettes in general. It’s disgusting. If you breathe it in, it’s the smoke that’s come out from someone else’s lungs because they’ve blown it out 🤢

You do realise there's air from everyone's lungs around you, all the time right?

I understand breathing in someone's second hand smoke of vapour isn't nice, but your comment from their lungs doesn't make sense. Do you give runners a wide berth?

Neighbours vaping in the flat below has caused me extensive smell allergy. I am now allergic to not only vapes but all fragrances too, including those in cleaning products and essential oils. When vapers open windows in their flat below us, the smell rises up to our level above and enters our windows. Sometimes we smell weed mixed with vapes too. It causes me severe allergies, and in hot weather I am unable to open windows to cool the apartment or get fresh air.
They also spray their lobby and communal staircase with perfume to hide the smell, which I have become allergic to since they moved in 2 years ago. My husband suffers from lung cancer and has breathing difficulties. He also gets affected by these fumes that irritate his lungs and cause profound coughing.
It has become a nightmare living in a flat, which we are having to sell and move to a detached house despite very tight budget.
Vapers seem to have no conciensious or consderation for others. People, wake up, the vaping pandemic has arrived! And it will cost NHS a lot more than the profit made from vapes.

You should try living in my house. My neighbour smokes 60 cigarettes a day, horrible cheap ones and sometimes has smoking mates round. My house stinks, they may as well come over and smoke in my living room. It's disgusting.

My 6 year old son is obsessed with the fact there's vape everywhere. I'm always having to reassure him there isn't any in shops but he will cover his mouth with his hood everywhere

YANBU, I fucking hate vaping and think some awful health effects will come out in the next 10/20 years. I can’t say I’ll have too much sympathy - they all seem more than happy to blow their disgusting synthetic candy floss smoke all over my child’s buggy and in crowded areas, so I’ll save my concern for people with more respect for others.

satsumaqueen · 19/02/2025 11:19

I agree. We went to the zoo last weekend and there were people vaping all over the place despite smoking and vaping being banned. I don’t think they should be allowed to be sold to the public at all. They should only be available on paid prescription from a GP and only for those wanting to quit smoking.

This! It is absolutely disgusting and people who vape have no respect for anybody else. And the ones who have it slung round their necks like a dummy should get a grip. Clutching them while going about their days. Pathetic!

I noticed a lot of young parents vaping whilst out with babies and toddlers. Totally ignorant about the vaping effect on their offspring. By the time facts come out it will be a vaping endemic and hospitals full of patients with lung damage. It is happening already.
