I'm just beyond disgusted and feel I need to vent.

I've always liked snag tights. I bought vouchers to save them in Lockdown, have spent hundreds with them. Liked their products and ethos- inclusive and female led.

Yesterday I went on their website, can definitely say it's my fault that I clicked on their NSFW collection, but I didn't expect what I found. Patches saying ' chke me' and 'cMSL*t'. Maybe I'm just a pearl clutching prude but I found these really offensive and not what I expect from a company with their ethos. I've put a pic below.

I posted in their Facebook group which I'm on highlighting that I thought this was a misjudgement on their part, that these were very misogynistic, and fed into a culture of violence against women which claims the life of a woman or girl every 11 minutes.

They declined my post and sent me a reply which I'll attach- I'm kink shaming apparently.

I find this really reprehensible and never want to spend a penny with them again!

I never thought I was prudish, whatever adults do between themselves is up to them, but I don't really want to buy from a clothing provider who is promoting this- aibu!?

It depends if you perceive the act to be violent? There are all kinds of roleplay and fantasies that would include it that when done properly and safely, are fun and fine.
The danger IMO and what is part of the bigger problem, is when women are coerced into this sort of play. That is where the danger lies. Huge red flags for me personally. When porn normalises rough sex so young men think its a normal part of the act and its not etc.

I can see people have said it's ok between consenting adults but the reality and complexity in real life is that there is vulnerability, co-ercion, and this narrative all feeds into the 'rough sex' defence that has plagued so many courtrooms.

So you think a woman shouldn't be able to lawfully consent to choking during sex, because even if she says she consents there is a chance she could potentially have been coerced? You could apply this to any and all forms of sexual activity. If you were to criminalise every consensual sex act that women could potentially be manipulated, pressured or forced into or that could potentially be physically harmful if someone takes it to the extreme there would be nothing left!

I enjoy a firm hand on my neck during sex, like a lot of people of both genders. Does that mean that if my DH places his hand firmly on my neck, with my full consent, you think he should be criminalised because he could potentially squeeze too hard? Or because even if I'm adamant I consented, I might have been coerced into saying that? We can't arrest and lock people up for things we think they might do.

yeah there's been cases of abusive men trying to use sex act gone wrong as a get out clause from murders they have committed.. but I don't think any have actually got away with that as it was perfectly obvious it was nonsense..

and yes I do know there's a problem again with abusive men using the entire concept of S&M to try to get away with harming women. Sadly I have first hand experience of this. But I'm still not out here trying to shut down other consenting adults fetish stuff due to that. Doesn't the new law make it illegal even with consent because it is not possible to consent to? I thought that was the whole point, to stop the defence of she liked it because even if she did its not possible to consent to any hands on throat.

They are just normal tights, except they fit better and are more comfortable than any I have worn. I’ve worn them when I’m thin and when I’ve been morbidly obese, and they fit perfectly.

Obviously everyone is a different shape though, so other people might find differently.

I get that some people are fine with the whole strangulation thing. I don't get why but I guess if we assume that a lot of the women who "consent" to it are really into it, it makes it seem like nothing more than a kink on the BDSM side of the whole sex thing. This was on a different website but as the OP said, she happened upon it via their social media and went to have a look expecting super sex undies and finding these shitty things. Would most of us have found them?
