Please!

I'm somewhat fascinated by people's fridges. Whenever I watched MTV cribs when younger I only cared about what was inside the fridges.

Anyone else like me?

I'll start with mine. (Yes I know it's not very well organised but I did a food shop today and had to rush and put it away before doing the school run)

Bottom drawers: fruit and veg
Bottom shelf: fruit and veg that doesn't fit in drawers
Next shelf: yogurts, dairy and desserts.
Next shelf: meat, fish and poultry with fresh pasta as I couldn't fit it anywhere else
Next shelf: miscellaneous stuff

I know it's not very organised. :)

Also showing off my dark chocolate! It’s from Lidl and so delicious!! I like it in the fridge and have a square after my dinner each evening

Poppysmom22 · 17/01/2024 19:45

Can anyone tell me why the salad drawer is under the meat shelf if my raw meat drips is going to go on food I don’t cook why are most fridges made that way

Heartbreaktuna · 17/01/2024 19:50

Cold jam?!

No idea, but any meat that’s not sealed (like from butchers) or that’s been opened, I put in a glass Tupperware box in case of drips

Cold jam?!

Always in my house!

I like your turntables!

Turntables are The Business! I love mine, it brings everything at the back to the front. So cool!

Here's mine, it maybe slightly sad that I've been mildly excited all day about joining this thread...

Oh this is a pleasing fridge. I think it's the white tray... I need one of those. Cheeses perhaps? And the labelled containers!

Theoldwoman · 17/01/2024 21:12

Love seeing how others organise their fridges! Mine is messy right now!

Happy to oblige!

<clears throat importantly>

Bottom shelf: bamboo lid - opened cheese box
Three other tupperwares (glass actually but same purpose) meat and veggie cottage pie remains

Next shelf up: gold top jar - grated cheese
Black/red top jar - cooked plain pasta

Shelf above that: Bonne Maman jar - cucumber salad

Next one up: left to right jars: Chicken stock, fried halloumi, mango purée

Wire shelf: Honey and hazlenut cake

Tippy top shelf: Nutella jar actually has homemade chocolate sauce in it

In the door the coconut oil jar actually has frozen olive oil - it turns solid and then stays solid if you keep it in the fridge thereafter so can use as non-dairy spread (assuming you like the taste of olive oil on your bread)

Dem rulez are you post a pic! GrinGrin

In all seriousness, your fridge contents sound like the fridge of dreams.

And I absolutely did not know that about olive oil after freezing can use as a spread! <digs out olive oil and decants into tupperware>

Name changed in case anyone recognises me from this 😂

And as requested, leftovers clarification:
1.White bowl at the top is pasta in tomato sauce
2.Little patterned bowls are garlic butter and cut up celery.
3.Green plastic tub is chopped parsley

I love those little bowls!

All my bowls are ancient so I don't expect you to remember, but if you do, where are they from please?

I LOVE patterned dinnerware!

@DoodleMum12 fantastic fridge.

And smashed potatoes are amazing. If you like marmite, drizzle a bit on the spuds before chucking them in the oven.

Mmmmm potatoes

@BewareTheBeardedDragon

I sincerely apologise.

I saw the fridge (I got a bit ahead of myself, I'm just loving all these fridges.)

A* fridge there!

What's the green in the glass bottle? Looks like some kind of smoothie concoction (I love a green smoothie)

Before and after delivery.

Not that exciting 😂 lots of carrots and mini potatoes (obsessed with smashed potatoes at moment!)

Sadly Asda sent ridiculous substitutes. Chicken breast instead of thighs and much smaller pack so no good. I had two meals planned with thighs this coming week. Also garlic instead of ginger? So need to go back out to get these things.

I am doing dry January and most of Feb (go on holiday on 20th) but I still have a bottle of wine and Grey Goose vodka in fridge.

You will see my sourdough starter on the top shelf that really needs feeding - I call him Larry. I have one of those spin things on my 2nd shelf so easier to get to the jars and bottles but does take up a little space.

Bottom shelf is a container for my dogs food, he’s raw fed and a little pot of bone broth for him and store my eggs there and meat when I get eventually get some.

That is such a satisfying after shot!

baldpenguine · 17/01/2024 21:44

We have 42 fantastic fridges on this thread, the thread has gone well. I didn't expect to be looking at so many fridges.

Thank you for your efforts everybody so far, you've definitely scratched an itch.

No problem!

I love this thread. I'm also highly amused at the contrast between this and the Xmas one. The Xmas one is always bit hairy while it attracts the loons haters of fridge sharing joy.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 17/01/2024 21:49

I used to have a puny under counter fridge that froze my salads. It came with the house and was seriously under-sized - even compared to my previous undercounter one.
I cannot describe the utter joy that a full height fridge has brought into my life (I'm not even ashamed of how intensely boring that is). I feel lucky every time I open it 😂

DoodleMum12 · 17/01/2024 21:51

I’m thoroughly enjoying this thread too. I am not an overly organised person and every single drawer in my fridge freezer has cracks from jars and food falling onto it! I’m loving all the pics of the not so perfectly organised fridges and the lovely comments here 🥰

Edited

No room for fridge shame on this thread!

All we see are these perfect fridges on insta where everyone decants everything and puts it in perfect tiktok shop containers and it's just not realistic!

We love a 'bung it in and hope for the best' fridge Grin

Who has the time? It already takes long enough unpacking the shop and playing fridge Jenga without having to decant things as well.

Have you seen the freezer ones? There's one woman who has a whole freezer dedicated to ice.. each shelf has 2 drawers with different shapes of ice.

Rectangle, sphere, stars, diamonds, so much more. Coffee ice, raspberry ice.

I mean it looks cool but with kids at home and working full time I could never 😂
