To ask you to show me your fridge?

Please!

I'm somewhat fascinated by people's fridges. Whenever I watched MTV cribs when younger I only cared about what was inside the fridges.

Anyone else like me?

I'll start with mine. (Yes I know it's not very well organised but I did a food shop today and had to rush and put it away before doing the school run)

Bottom drawers: fruit and veg
Bottom shelf: fruit and veg that doesn't fit in drawers
Next shelf: yogurts, dairy and desserts.
Next shelf: meat, fish and poultry with fresh pasta as I couldn't fit it anywhere else
Next shelf: miscellaneous stuff

I know it's not very organised. :)

My fridge is quite low on fresh food, because it must be time to shop for veg tomorrow. I totally make up for it with endless jars of weird stuff.

Is that wine in the door on the left?

Keeponkeepigon · 17/01/2024 16:29

I’m waiting for all the fillet steak, lobster, quails eggs and caviar fridges to show up, from the six figure Mumsnetters!

vegan parmesan, half a tin of mandarins, assorted eye drops
That would make for a particularly challenging episode of Ready Steady Cook

Nothing out of the ordinary here. Food delivery comes on a Sunday, just had a fruit top up today.

Seriously, how does everyone manage with just one fridge?

Vergingontheridiculous · 17/01/2024 16:49

@Barrenfieldoffucks is that a sourdough starter in the kilner jar?

Oldraver · 17/01/2024 17:03

msmatcha · 17/01/2024 13:19

Am I the only person with a milkman? Bit sad about that! I'd hate to have those huge plastic bottles cluttering up my (admittedly already cluttered) fridge.

Yes we have milk in glass bottles so don't store in the door as we previously had problems with the door coming off

Same as we manage with just one pair of diamond shoes I expect 🙄

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 17/01/2024 17:07

I put milk in the door and never had a problem either, the big cartons. What’s supposed to go in that part of the door anyway? Juices? Which I don’t drink.

Eggs always go in fridge don’t care about official advice.

Oldraver · 17/01/2024 17:08

We also have a rather depleted beer fridge. I also use it for cooling stuff down quickly ready for the freezer

No picture but my retinol serum lives in the fridge.

Bringmeflours · 17/01/2024 17:14

Strangely love these threads!

here is my contribution. It was cleaned and reorganised at the weekend but you wouldn’t know that looking at it now!

@Bringmeflours what is in the big metal pot ?

Bringmeflours · 17/01/2024 17:18

@Floralnomad - homemade leek & potato soup. It’s the pot from my Instant Pot which I find very good for soups.

Here's mine, it maybe slightly sad that I've been mildly excited all day about joining this thread...

Not sad at all! I’m eagerly waiting for my food shop so can do a before and after as someone suggested. It’s running a bit late!

whata the round thing on your third shelf? I see cantaloupe on the bottom one below it but trying to figure out the other round one!

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 17/01/2024 18:12

@DoodleMum12 I'm now also eagerly awaiting your online shop 😂
It's a snowball melon. We like melons here!

girlmeetsboy · 17/01/2024 18:16

Nothing exciting here...

How do you manage with only one servant?

Hmm

To those who have leftovers in Tupperware, can you elaborate on what's in the Tupperware please Grin

I live off meals from “All Week” so my fridge is pretty sad looking! (I live alone.)

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 17/01/2024 19:23

Happy to oblige!

<clears throat importantly>

Bottom shelf: bamboo lid - opened cheese box
Three other tupperwares (glass actually but same purpose) meat and veggie cottage pie remains

Next shelf up: gold top jar - grated cheese
Black/red top jar - cooked plain pasta

Shelf above that: Bonne Maman jar - cucumber salad

Next one up: left to right jars: Chicken stock, fried halloumi, mango purée

Wire shelf: Honey and hazlenut cake

Tippy top shelf: Nutella jar actually has homemade chocolate sauce in it

In the door the coconut oil jar actually has frozen olive oil - it turns solid and then stays solid if you keep it in the fridge thereafter so can use as non-dairy spread (assuming you like the taste of olive oil on your bread)

TinyFridge · 17/01/2024 19:35

Name changed in case anyone recognises me from this 😂

And as requested, leftovers clarification:
1.White bowl at the top is pasta in tomato sauce
2.Little patterned bowls are garlic butter and cut up celery.
3.Green plastic tub is chopped parsley

DoodleMum12 · 17/01/2024 19:36

Before and after delivery.

Not that exciting 😂 lots of carrots and mini potatoes (obsessed with smashed potatoes at moment!)

Sadly Asda sent ridiculous substitutes. Chicken breast instead of thighs and much smaller pack so no good. I had two meals planned with thighs this coming week. Also garlic instead of ginger? So need to go back out to get these things.

I am doing dry January and most of Feb (go on holiday on 20th) but I still have a bottle of wine and Grey Goose vodka in fridge.

You will see my sourdough starter on the top shelf that really needs feeding - I call him Larry. I have one of those spin things on my 2nd shelf so easier to get to the jars and bottles but does take up a little space.

Bottom shelf is a container for my dogs food, he’s raw fed and a little pot of bone broth for him and store my eggs there and meat when I get eventually get some.
