They were in different places. One had a stack on the tank of the toilet. One had a magazine holder - the wood kind that sits on the floor- right next to the loo. Another one had a magazine holder screwed to the wall. I don’t recall any being hidden.

There would be a Country Life or Forbes, but behind that…lads mags.

Even when these photographs were taken, people weren't really using them for this purpose. They did have men's magazines in those days, you know, and they certainly weren't full of arty monochrome publicity shots of fully dressed women
