To say that the variety of crisps has gone downhill?

Why oh why won't they bring back ready salted chipsticks? Or even the supermarkets knock of version!? Why can't you buy single (or mutli) packets of walkers ready salted squares? I know my taste in crisps is boring, as I mainly long for discontinued ready salted flavours. Although I do miss branningtons(?) beef and mustard...Anyone remember ready salted kangaroo shaped crisps from the 90s? And those little ready salted triangles and or the ready salted tubes (same texture as walkers squares) both from sainsburys. Also, I have fond memories ot these maize based bacon flavour chipsticks (no idea what they were called) Anyone else remember these ?

I think the maize based bacon things are called Frazzles?.

Please tell me frazzles still exist, after moving to Australia 12 years ago, it’s the thing I’m most looking forward to when I travel back to the uk next year.

if scampi fries are gone too I’m cancelling my flight.

Frazzles are still available today Tesco, Sainsbury's. But you ought to check Google when you arrive. Me I'd be checking Amazon au 😂

Scampi fries I only find in newsagents.

24g????

Crisps were always 28g, an ounce. Then shrinkflation brought them down the 25g (10% fewer crisps) with no reduction in price. Going even smaller is just taking the piss.

I picked up these in Aldi today. Pleasantly mouth stripping salt n vinegar flavour.

I know it's not the same, but if you need an umami hit, Golden Wonder Cheese and Onion crisps have both MSG and disodium 5'-ribonucleotide (which boosts glutamates), as well as yeast extract, whey powder and two types of cheese powder. It's a level of deliciousness that's hard to achieve without the type of ingredient that scares off the no-UPF crowd.

Oh I used to love those bacon chipstick-style crisps. They were in a pink packet that looked like newsprint. And the bag was wide and short, unlike normal crisp bags. Only ever saw them in newsagents, many, many years ago.

Marmite crisps are back!

I found them on the shelf in Sainsbury's this morning (Surrey/Sussex border) - the Northern Irish company Tayto Group Ltd have taken on the flavour. They're £2.20 for a 6-pack.

...Unfortunately, I gave up crisps for Lent so won't be able to report on how they compare with the Walker's version for another three weeks and three days. <gazes longingly at calendar...>
