To say that the variety of crisps has gone downhill?

Why oh why won't they bring back ready salted chipsticks? Or even the supermarkets knock of version!? Why can't you buy single (or mutli) packets of walkers ready salted squares? I know my taste in crisps is boring, as I mainly long for discontinued ready salted flavours. Although I do miss branningtons(?) beef and mustard...Anyone remember ready salted kangaroo shaped crisps from the 90s? And those little ready salted triangles and or the ready salted tubes (same texture as walkers squares) both from sainsburys. Also, I have fond memories ot these maize based bacon flavour chipsticks (no idea what they were called) Anyone else remember these ?

I haven’t forgiven M&S for discontinuing the Ready Salted Combo Mix!!

BassoContinuo · 16/01/2024 20:09

It’s the ones in the yellow bags that are sold there.

Maybe whoever does stock ordering there is originally from NI

The usual thread about "crisps" that contains hardly any chat about actual potato crisps 😡

Thread reported.

What have I missed ?
All I am reading is about crisps .

I'll tell you another disturbing development...
DH bought me a multipack of Walkers vegan crisps to try. I'm not vegan, but always up for sampling new non-meaty flavours (grilled not-cheese: 5.5/10).
Anyway. Disturbing development coming up: not only were there 5 bags in said multipack, but the weight of the individual bags was 24g. Twenty frickin four! It's a slippery slope.

Blondehairgonewild · 16/01/2024 20:21

I would sell my first born for ready salted chipsticks, they are my Roman Empire and I think about them more than I should!

@Wednesdaysotherchild i was looking for these the other day I didn’t realise boooooooo

HolyMilkBoobiesBatman · 16/01/2024 20:24

The kangaroo shaped ones!! Oh my goodness I’d completely forgotten they existed. Jumpys? Is that what they were called?

Also 3D Doritos, they were good!

Bookridden · 16/01/2024 20:27

Another person here gutted about the loss of Worcester sauce crisps. And no, Seabrook and French Fries don't compensate. I don't understand why Walkers discontinued them.

AhBiscuits · 16/01/2024 20:28

Lidl do their own version of chipsticks. They're good.

lmhj1 · 16/01/2024 20:32

I'm reading this with HORROR. I assumed it was just our rural area that had crap crisps.

Why oh why have they stopped Worcester sauce.

Surely someone works for them??

Topofthemountain · 16/01/2024 07:19

I wish, sadly they don't deliver anywhere near me 😟

lmhj1 · 16/01/2024 20:36

See now I am googling this. Discontinued due to sales. That's marketing pish. Discontinued due to low availability in the first place. If they had matched all the plain with those they would have sold

KP do mini chips which are the harder version (not maize). We have a shop near us sells them and I hadn't seen them in years. Not seen them in supermarkets

Hastae · 16/01/2024 20:44

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: spaghetti sauce monster munch.

They’ll never be surpassed in the world of baked corn snacks (which are much more satisfying than mere crisps), although spicy bbq Transform-a-Snacks are a decent substitute.

zippitydoda · 16/01/2024 20:51

M&S Prairie Wheels for the 70s. The BEST EVER.

bobomomo · 16/01/2024 20:54

As the best crisps in the world are pickled onion monster munch I have no complaints. Skips are acceptable and the salt and black pepper posh ones are good for dipping

SnapdragonToadflax · 16/01/2024 20:56

Literally two hours ago I was wandering around M&S trying to find the blue bag of chipsticks. Have they stopped doing them?! So annoying. I wanted that burnt tongue feeling.

I still haven't forgiven them for discontinuing their baked potato flavour crisps.

fumanchu · 16/01/2024 20:57

Mignon morceaux? Mm

GettingStuffed · 16/01/2024 20:58

A lot of these are savoury snacks, not crisps. Crisps are fried thin slices of 🥔

itchychin · 16/01/2024 21:09

Yes!!!! 🤤(meant to reply re mignons morceaux

Are these maize based ? Or the hard potatoe sticks?

I miss ready salted square multipacks too. You used to be able to buy big bags of them in Marks and Spencer but they’ve stopped doing them. Our local Home Bargains does 6 packs of the cheese and onion squares and the salt and vinegar squares but not the ready salted. 😡 You can’t even buy the boxes from Amazon like you can with some hard to find crisps. I wonder if you can get them at big cash and carries?

I've tried booker wholesale and nope, not in there either ... I would literally by them by the box if they existed

I wish they'd bring back cheese moments. I miss those.
