To be annoyed with Stanley Tucci?

Regarding his sandwich.

if looked so delicious on Instagram.

In actuality it was horrible. Prosciutto is like raw bacon. Mozzarella didn’t melt. Olive oil is tasteless grease. I like pesto with spaghetti but not, as it turns out, in a sandwich.

i was so looking forward to it. Went shopping on the way home specially 😕

What food have you had that didn’t live up to expectation?

Also: we all die alone.

No we don't

Zwellers · 04/01/2024 00:38

Stresa22. You have throughly upset me. How dare you insinuate that I didn't care about a loved one because I wasn't in the room when they died. You should be throughly ashamed of your ignorant insensitive and hurtful views.

I’m not keen on Stanley Tucci but the interview doesn’t say that he left his wife, it says he couldn’t be in the room with her the moment she died. That’s a very personal decision and it’s ok. Some people don’t want to see their loved one dead.#

I don't think its ok. I think its fucking selfish. and I say that who has been with someone when they died because I was there for them.

Death isn't all goodnight sweet prince. Plenty of people are scared of dying. It is literally the last goodbye and to not be there with your wife at the moment she dies BY CHOICE because you didn't want see it is pretty vile IMO. I get if it was a mutual agreement but that's not what he's saying. He said he wants to apologise to her for it.

The person you chose to make a life with, marry and had children with, isn't worth you risking additional emotional distress to make their last moments in the company of the person they chose to do all that with. It's just my opinion and it's coloured totally by my own experiences of witnessing death of loved ones but I think it is absolutely disgusting and it has totally, totally changed my view of him.

Mind you, I suppose he's an actor who aren't reknown as a class for putting others first.

Well I nursed my husband at home until his death. I was holding his hand and telling him that it was okay to go, and that we (me and our young adult daughters) would be okay, as he faded away.

And I couldn't disagree with you more. I did what I was comfortable with. I wouldn't even think of judging anyone who wasn't able to be there for their own loved one, especially if there were young children to be cared for emotionally.
His wife had other people she loved with her. His children had him.

I loved him in Murder One, he was so deliciously evil.
He was once here for a film festival and we told him to avoid all the local Italian restaurants.

Doteycat · 04/01/2024 01:24

I loved him in ER.

Redlarge · 04/01/2024 09:34

I always think him and Mark Strong are the same actors. Wonder how Mark makes his sandwiches.

Oh god no, look it up, it’s hours of frying courgette in individual slices and then mixing with spaghetti the next day.

Fuck that. Courgette is dead bland anyway.

Well, that escalated quickly

This. OP was complaining about his recipe being shite and it very quickly transcended into full blown character assassination.

He hardly deserted his wife when she found out she was terminally ill, he just couldn’t be in the room at the moment of her passing which I’d say is entirely natural. Impossibly difficult to watch someone you love die so I don’t think I blame him for that personally.

Anyway. It isn’t a recipe but I’ll never forget the M&S food ads years ago and my Gran and I totally fell for their melt in the mouth chocolate cake. We wanted one for ages, finally bought one and it was the biggest let down ever.

No she created quite the bunfight and didn’t like being called on it.
