Are all men mean when they’ve had a few too many drinks?

My Husband is a great man, kind, caring and sensible. But when he’s had too many drinks he just turns. He’s mean, arrogant, obnoxious and to be honest I don’t really like him when he’s been drinking. He doesn’t drink often - every few months, but when he’s passed a point, I just have no use to try and talk to him, reason, or try and have a nice evening.

Are they all like this?? My approach is just to realise when he’s starting to be a dick and then just write off the evening and do my own thing. By the morning he’s back to being nice. Any advice? Anyone else find this?

No, that's a dick thing, not a man thing. True colours come out when people have had a drink.

My DP is extra affectionate when drunk.

My husband is just fun when he’s had a few drinks. More inclined to dance and just a hoot. The worst he might do is get sleepy, but more often than not, he’ll be the last one on the dance floor.

I’d be wary of anyone, male or female, that gets nasty when drinking. It’s extremely telling. We have one friend who does this and we all think he’s an arsehole and avoid socialising with this couple as a result. His wife is lovely, but he is not.

Also, i worked in a bar for years. Most people are lovely and silly when drunk. Only the twats behave like twats when drunk, you just notice them more because their behaviour is loud or mean.

If someone isnt a nice person when drunk i wouldnt be friends with them sober.

The thing with saying that alcohol brings out your true self is that it fails to understand that our inhibitions are a significant part of our true character

OMG that is so so perfectly stated.
