Feel sick at how much I've spent on Xmas

Just feel like it's a ludicrous amount and I don't have the money. I feel like a sort of panic sets in every year and I just massively overbuy. Ridiculous. We have enough stuff, now I'm going to be skint for ages. Does anyone else just feel really uneasy with the Christmas excess? I'm a lone parent and worry that I overcompensate at times.

I am also a lone parent, my two 18 and 22 get £50 each and some sweets etc.
They are more than happy.
I work in retail and see first hand the enormous gluttony people succumb to, it's really off putting by Xmas l am sick of the sight of anything festive.
We just have a really relaxed chilled day, nice dinner, go for a walk, we walk most days anyway, no stress.
I cannot understand why people are so committed to making it so over complicated and expensive.

It’s society and social media unfortunately

It’s society and social media unfortunately

But we all are part of society and most of us are active in social media, yet many of us don’t indulge in extreme consumerism.

It is simply not necessary. You can make things special and have thoughtful gifts without compromising the family’s financial welfare.
