To ask her to bring buffet food?

My parents are coming to us this year for Christmas. I asked mum if she would mind bringing some buffet bits for the evening.. like a prawn cocktail, satay chicken or sausage rolls, or that kind of thing.
She's said that's ridiculous I asked and her and dad will have Christmas at home. I didn't think it was out of order to ask?

Don't be ridiculous. People were questioning her motives and there's only so much you can put in the OP before it gets too long to read. It's a bit like having a conversation. You know that thing where people take it in turns to speak, and exchange opinions and information?

Apologise, say you'll do all the food....then just serve 0% Pomagne all day.
