Has anyone watched the BBC interview this morning?
AIBU to think there is no way the pair of them are convincing anyone that they have done nothing wrong?

I'm so cross about this and the lack of challenge from Kuenssburg. They're married FFS, of course she'd benefit. Also, no challenge on a peer living on the Isle of Man and therefore avoiding tax (not illegal but definitely immoral). She may not have done anything wrong legally but morally she's on very shaky ground on so many levels...

Fraudornot · 17/12/2023 20:58

We can’t let this one just drift with no action and then be forgotten about. This is our money - all the austerity measures we will have to make for years, the declining NHS, the threats of stopping benefits for the disabled and these two scumbags sit on £60m of ours.

Neither of them understand the word “moral”. Is it possible to strip someone of a peerage?

Pelham678 · 17/12/2023 21:01

She makes me so furious. But typical type that scoff from the trough while banging on about benefit scroungers...

Dynamoat · 17/12/2023 21:04

I liked the bit when she said "IF I die" suggesting she believes she's not just protected in this but also immortal.

Vote Them Out Election Day GIF by Creative Courage

Laura K needed this in the room. The stench of BS was nauseating.

Softwintersun · 17/12/2023 21:08

@BIossomtoes Well didn't they strip fred goodwin of his knighthood after the near collapse of RBS

WorkSmarter · 17/12/2023 21:09

She is the tip of the iceberg of gov who are filling their own bank accounts. Wake up. Hate that it's a female scapegoat, there must be 100 to this one woman. Weird that she is copping the attention out of everyone but still not nice 🥴

Moonshine5 · 17/12/2023 21:13

Nothing to do with her being a woman. Her behaviour is immoral and still denying any benefit to her.

Moonshine5 · 17/12/2023 21:14

Same applies to Doug

I think the custom is that people have to actually be prosecuted and convicted based on evidence before they are jailed.

They could be locked up on remand. That would be nice. Followed by a hefty custodial sentence. It’s the least they deserve.

Cicciabella · 17/12/2023 21:20

The ipjayer interview is class

I think you’ll find they did. He lost it in 2012. A knighthood’s different to a peerage though. I’ve just checked and it seems a peerage can be removed if they receive a prison sentence of a year or more. 🤞

Northernsouloldies · 17/12/2023 21:27

British politics needs a serious look at corruption, North and south of the border. The little people bear the brunt of their misdeeds time to remind them they serve us not the other way around.

gawditswindy · 17/12/2023 21:31

She fucking disgusts me. Parasite. She comes from the East End of Glasgow - one of the most desperately poor areas in the country - and has no issue about screwing over the public.

Ireolu · 17/12/2023 21:35

Just as mad at the idiots in the Tory party who gave these 2 chancers the ppe contract. Tax payers money passed down the drain.

BouncingJAS · 17/12/2023 21:35

@Fraudornot

They don't care about any of that.

The reason they came out with this interview is to muddy the waters sufficiently so that they are able to regenerate their reputations (in their social networks).

They are being black-balled by high society, and while Mone doesn't really "work", her husband does depend on the income from his tax clients. Its these folks that have left his business in IOM because he is essentially radioactive now.

Thats why they did the interview (which I agree was a trainwreck).

They are both being shunned as being investigated by HMRC and NCA is serious, so their "friends" and "clients" are avoiding them like the plague.

They are also running out of time because the current Govt is largely friendly to them, but Labour will definitely not be. They are trying to show "contrition" in order to strike a legal deal before Labour comes to power.

Roussette · 17/12/2023 21:39

To me... they showed no contrition whatsoever.

"I did nothing wrong" said numerous times.

"It's not a crime to lie to the media".... errrrrr you stupid woman... lying to the media is lying to the public.

Fraudornot · 17/12/2023 21:54

@BouncingJAS thats very insightful. How do you know all that?

Apart from lying about whether they were benefiting, they appear to have been trying to game the Companies House system by trying to hide the ultimate owners of the company, as described in the link I posted earlier. This used to be allowed but isn’t now.

PrinnyPree · 17/12/2023 22:06

So many of these vultures need putting in prison for the rest of their fucking lives, including the MPs who I am positive arranged these contracts for favour or money. But it won't happen will it, us plebs will be lucky if she gets her peerage revoked. Our country is such a corrupt shithole, it's laughable to even call it a democracy at this point.

And I know this is being mildly covered but our media is basically toothless and pretty sympathetic to these types. It'll be off the headlines soon enough with hope the British public can get distracted soon enough by something like Tommy Robinson being shoved in Dancing on Ice.

Nah, she's going to prison.

Is a fucking thief.

I’m really left wondering do these high worth high profile business people/people in majorly powerful and influential positions have children and families so they can default to the: protecting my children/family excuse whenever they’re found out to be doing something bad and unlawful ?

Fraudornot · 17/12/2023 22:17

@BouncingJAS although they are being absolutely slaughtered on Twitter (X) and I don’t think future clients will ignore that - it’s unrelentingly negative
