Has anyone watched the BBC interview this morning?
AIBU to think there is no way the pair of them are convincing anyone that they have done nothing wrong?

@Blah12345678999 i do wonder how they face their children or do they all stick their heads in the sand and believe the unbelievable on the grounds they will all be very rich one day.

I don't understand Mone's I lied to protect my family thing. How old are her children? What danger would they have been in if she'd told the truth from the start?

NoCloudsAllowed · 17/12/2023 22:20

Why people got mad about the EU but not the house of lords beats me - unelected representatives, anyone?

See also that blonde woman in her 30s that Boris Johnson put in the HoL, she's either his daughter or mistress, who knows but she decides on our laws and has very little experience of anything

Her eldest is 34!

Ossobuco · 17/12/2023 22:24

isn’t there some standards thing for being in the House of Lords and bringing it into disrepute or some official way to deal with vastly over promoted liars?

VanityDiesHard · 17/12/2023 22:35

A pair of swivel eyed, grifting wankers. Just vile. Mone's face is horrendous, so frozen. And he is a tubby little fucker.

Exactly!! People were mental over the EU whilst ignoring this sitting right in our faces

Userxyd · 18/12/2023 05:37

I don't get why LK didn't ask whether they are still comfortable keeping that money. It was all presented as permanent fact that it's theirs now yet it's a constant daily decision they're making to keep it, even in the face of all this.
Theyre endangering themselves and their families by still insisting on keeping those inordinate profits on the crap they sold a desperate dying public- even worse now the NHS is so skint.
Why can't we insist on a refund given they were faulty? Simple citizens advice job, £200m back in the bank in 3-5 working days?

Userxyd · 18/12/2023 05:39

In fact they talked about the risk they took getting that PPE. What risk? That it might not be any good and they'd lose the money?
They were right!!

AgentProvocateur · 18/12/2023 05:49

She is a despicable, unpleasant individual and always has been. Her first husband had the business brains. He’s had a lucky escape.

countrygirl99 · 18/12/2023 05:50

She needs to remember that the best way of protecting your family against the consequences of your own bad actions is not to do them in the first place.

I am sick to the back teeth of these corrupt lying Tory scumbags, Mone, Johnson, Sunak, Braverman the bloody lot of them. Corrupt as they come, all of them.
How the hell have we allowed ourselves as a country to have these people in charge? The British public has been brainwashed

And you think Labour will be any better? Plenty of self serving politicians on either side.

Iknewbeforeithappened · 18/12/2023 06:10

Before that first shipment of useless PPE arrived from Türkiye, I had been phoning the Cabinet Office, the health secretary and shadow HS's offices, my MP and even a national radio station. I also emailed my MP on numerous occasions. My long time friend who at that time owned a legitimate manufacturing company and had been supplying the NHS since the 1990s had been offering PPE to the NHS for weeks and was constantly told by the usual customers that they were not allowed to place orders. We could not understand why this long term company, with an excellent track record, could not get to speak to anyone. (My friend was invited to participate in a Panorama documentary about the PPE scandal but was intimidated and declined).
I was ignored by all the people I tried to speak to, shouted down and ridiculed by the radio station, shouted down by people on mumsnet.
Yet here we are.

BouncingJAS · 18/12/2023 06:16

@Fraudornot

I work in the City and we have discussed these two at work because these two are pretty unsophisticated swindlers (Mone specially).

Future clients won't care as long as the legal cases against them have been closed.

Thats their end game here.

They cannot afford to have the cases drag on for years, as that would be financial and legally crippling for them.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 18/12/2023 07:02

Let's hope not.

That is shocking and appalling but sadly not a surprise

Fraudornot · 18/12/2023 07:43

@BouncingJAS so they have admitted involvement with the company to draw things to a conclusion?
Is the Trust fund all a red herring - like when this has all died down can it be moved to Michelle anytime without waiting for his death?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Starmer came down like a ton of bricks on any MPs who were up to dodgy stuff, tbh. He's been quick to withdraw the whip from a fair few Labour MPs.

BouncingJAS · 18/12/2023 07:51

@Fraudornot

Yes, they have accepted "blame" to speed up the process.

If HMRC/NCA get nasty, they will have to pay back a large portion of the "profits" (£60mn on their end), with additional tax penalties (by admitting fault they also reduce the size of these penalties).

Their lawyers probably told them that best case scenario is they walk away with nothing but don't end up in jail (if this all gets sorted before next election). All bets are off if this drags on until Labour wins the election because Labour have made it clear that they will come after Covid swindlers hard (in this case they would very likely be looking at jail time).

I know someone who has worked for her in the past and says he thinks she is the worst person he has ever met- an absolute ´see you next Tuesday’

I also know someone who knows her as they were in the same circle of friends when her bra company went big.
I’ve never heard him say a bad word about anyone in twenty years, he used the C word to describe her.

I don’t expect Labour to be perfect but they have a lot fewer tax dodging scum with their hands in the till.

So many of these vultures need putting in prison for the rest of their fucking lives, including the MPs who I am positive arranged these contracts for favour or money. But it won't happen will it, us plebs will be lucky if she gets her peerage revoked. Our country is such a corrupt shithole, it's laughable to even call it a democracy at this point.

And I know this is being mildly covered but our media is basically toothless and pretty sympathetic to these types. It'll be off the headlines soon enough with hope the British public can get distracted soon enough by something like Tommy Robinson being shoved in Dancing on Ice.

And where is the comeback on Michael Gove, who was instrumental to this.

Mone and her man should be locked up. Gove investigated too.

She should be in jail.

Her assets should be frozen. The money she has is not hers. It needs to revert to the British taxpayer whom she consciously defrauded. She is a criminal.
