How often? Settle a debate on what constitutes 'normal' and what's excessive please.

happygertie · 16/12/2023 20:21

Every other day , if I didn't work then maybe everyday, but I have two shedding dogs.

qazxc · 16/12/2023 20:22

Living room kitchen, bathroom everyday or every other day. Bedrooms once a week.

caringcarer · 16/12/2023 20:24

Ditto g room twice a week, rest of house once a week and spare bedrooms hardly ever.

maddiemookins16mum · 16/12/2023 20:27

Twice a week here. More if needed, but rarely. I do brush the kitchen floor daily.

betterangels · 16/12/2023 20:28

PamelaParis · 16/12/2023 19:58

Once a fortnight if you're me. So probably once a week for normal people.

I was going to say this.

fallingapart2 · 16/12/2023 20:28

@gamerchick

The reason I didn't 'start' is because I was told by the other party not to pose the question in a leading way, so as to avoid any bias. 🙄
I hoover the entire house daily, as we have four youngish children and pets. Apparently this is 'nuts' and should be done once a week. But I know that if I left it a couple of days it would look dirty and my anxiety would be through the roof.

Once a day, have little kids dropping food everywhere. Only the downstairs though.

JaffavsCookie · 16/12/2023 20:29

Every time the cleaner comes, so mostly every week, but if she misses a week then fortnightly. However our kids are long since grown up and we both spend long hours out of the house so little mess.

CuntRYMusicStar · 16/12/2023 20:30

I hoover daily as we have a dog and youngish children. I also have a robot which does an extra lap of the living room in the afternoon.

My house is not spotless but I hate having dog hair on the carpet.

JaffavsCookie · 16/12/2023 20:31

Ah ok. OP sorry but even when I had 4 young children and pets I didn’t hoover the whole house very day, deffo seems like overkill.

Workway · 16/12/2023 20:31

It's hoovered top to bottom weekly.

Then ad-hoc - whenever I see bits on the floor.
2-3 times a week roughly - but not the whole house just the high traffic areas.

PastTheGin · 16/12/2023 20:32

The robot does downstairs every day, then the whole house including downstairs once a week.

mumtoboys12 · 16/12/2023 20:32

Twice a day I'm obsessed! X

Laguiri · 16/12/2023 20:32

For years and years, once a fortnight (just me and a whippet who barely sheds). Then I got another dog who’s an Olympic shedder. When my cleaner showed me what she’d picked up after the first fortnight with the new dog (dirt is hard to see on the terrazzo tiling on the floor), I was horrified. Now I vacuum downstairs every other day. Upstairs is still once a fortnight.

hiredandsqueak · 16/12/2023 20:32

Robot hoover does the downstairs daily whilst I walk the dog. I vacuum the upstairs weekly.

IpsyUpsyDaisyDoos · 16/12/2023 20:32

Dog and toddler so every other day ish. Of dog is moulting then twice a day because my god the hair!! It's a small house though so it takes 5/10 mins max.

Baublerwarbler · 16/12/2023 20:32

Daily. Weekly is bad but reading fortnightly is making me feel ill.

Jeannie88 · 16/12/2023 20:33

Every couple of days or at least twice a week and sweep ups inbetween daily. Kids and a dog, so many bits on the floor lol 🤣

Lemonademoney · 16/12/2023 20:33

Upstairs once a week. Downstairs at least twice a week.

LaurieFairyCake · 16/12/2023 20:33

Every 6 weeks whether it needs it or not

Clementine87 · 16/12/2023 20:33

Daily here upstairs and down! 3 kids & 2 pets. Takes me 10 mins as house isn't massive & nothing is left to build up. No idea what is normal though

Branster · 16/12/2023 20:34

Normal once a week, average 3 times a week, our house daily because of our muddy and hairy dogs. I should really get a couple of robot vacuum cleaners.

squeekychicken · 16/12/2023 20:34

Downstairs every day with the Dyson hand held vac and then upstairs once a week.

Princessfluffy · 16/12/2023 20:35

Living areas most days.
Bedrooms not much.

RampantIvy · 16/12/2023 20:35

Once a week - two adults, no pets or children (DD lives 100 miles away).
