Do you sleep naked?

Was chatting with my friend and I mentioned how I sleep naked, she found this completely shocking which I found quite funny tbh 😂 so just wondered if I’m in the minority or not.

Yes, DH and I both always do.
I used to sometimes put on a t-shirt if cold when I first got in. Maybe socks too! But now we have an electric blanket to warm the bed before we get in so I don't need to. I particularly hate sleeping with knickers or PJ bottoms on. Really uncomfortable!

unique78 · 07/12/2023 16:49

Not naked, but just pants. I can't bear the sensation of pyjamas/nightshirt/whatever rubbing against the sheets. It's too hot, uncomfortable and restrictive. Our whole house sleeps in boxers/pants.

I do wish I could cope with PJs though, I've seen many a beautiful set that I'd love to wear.

Look upon PJs as evening wear and take them off when you go to bed then?

ManateeFair · 07/12/2023 17:13

i'd have to wash my covers every day it's not hygienic.

What absolute nonsense.

I usually sleep in knickers and a supportive bralette/crop-top but if it's chilly I might wear a massive oversize t-shirt or, if it's really freezing, satin pyjamas. Mainly though I reserve pyjamas for lounging rather than sleeping.

KCSIE · 07/12/2023 17:15

Nope, it's far too cold and I like to be cosy. Makes me feel safe.

existentialpain · 07/12/2023 17:25

Naked apart from knickers in summer. Im the winter i wear a nightdress or pjs

Sauvblanctime · 07/12/2023 17:30

Yup

also sensory issues around clothes. I cannot stand socks

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/12/2023 17:49

Oh goodness, I’d never be able to stand socks.

Re the sheet washing thing, that is stupid. The only time I’ve ever needed to wash a sheet was when I was wearing underwear and pyjamas and had pancreatitis and had unfortunately very liquid diarrhoea. Otherwise it’s going to be fine even if you’re naked for a couple of weeks. Relax.

NashvilleQueen · 07/12/2023 17:51

Never ever ever

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/12/2023 17:53

*wash a sheet after one day. I obviously do it every week or so in normal life.

shivawn · 07/12/2023 17:56

Just knickers usually. Occasionally a t-shirt. Especially now that I'm breastfeeding a newborn during the night it's much easier and more comfortable to have no top on.

mydogisthebest · 07/12/2023 18:10

Yes me and DH have slept naked for the 43 years we have been married.

I hate the feeling of pyjamas or nighties when I am trying to sleep and they twist round your body.

Also wearing anything would make me too hot. We have a 4.5 tog duvet all year round and don't have the radiator on in the bedroom. I usually wake in the night because I am too hot!

Gwenhwyfar · 07/12/2023 18:27

No, but my room is about 10 degrees.

Torganer · 07/12/2023 18:51

No issue with nakedness, but an electric blanket and a fan?!! Does seem a bit wasteful. Just use extra blankets and open the window. I’m guessing you have a toasty newish house. We have an Edwardian ice palace and I wear woollen base layers and cashmere socks!!

Ardith · 07/12/2023 19:11

Yes, haven’t worn nightwear since i was 19.

If I try to sleep in a Tshirt I wake up drenched in sweat 🤷‍♀️

therealcookiemonster · 07/12/2023 19:28

no chance. I am very paranoid about cleanliness and the idea of all body parts touching the sheets... just no. Full pajama set. sometimes a jumper too if I am particularly cold.

RheaRend · 07/12/2023 19:34

Nope pjs and 15 tog duvet all year round. Then blankets too in this weather. I am always cold.

anythinginapinch · 07/12/2023 19:37

Always.

CaptainJackSparrow85 · 07/12/2023 19:40

No. I really hate sleeping without PJs on. I do live in a freezing cold house though.

Moonshine5 · 07/12/2023 20:29

90% of MN claim to sleep naked. 😂

AmyDudley · 07/12/2023 20:37

Not at this time of year, last night I went to bed in a nightie, then got up and put on tracky trousers a jumper and thick socks because I was freezing - so about as far from naked as I could be Grin

HoboSexualOnslow · 07/12/2023 20:42

No

lurchermummy · 07/12/2023 20:42

Yes unless I'm sharing a hotel room with a friend when I will concede pyjamas!

Mouse82 · 07/12/2023 20:47

I use to, then we had to evacuate one night due to a fire which involved the local news channels threw on the closest thing to the bed 😳

LlynTegid · 07/12/2023 21:03

A minority yes, but not as rare as say a giant panda or a dry day in Manchester!
