7 dogs in Starbucks today is too much

I turned around and walked out again, don’t get me started on dogs sniffing cups and plates of food whilst sat next to the owners.
What is the solution ?
Can’t dogs be left anymore?
AIBU to think dog separation cannot be so painful that dogs have to go everywhere!

@Whiteday

why?!

cos that poster has more right to be in a cafe than a dog and so many cafes these days allow dogs.

The cafe owner obviously disagrees if they allow dogs. 🐕

HUMANS TRUMP DOGS, ALWAYS

Happily not in the venues allowing dogs.

@LuckySantangelo35 but clearly, I leave Bert clearly the cafe owners don't think it's a viable business proposition.

I mean very clearly.

It's like a cake shop excluding nuts on cakes, because one on a thousand has a severe nut allergy.

@Standproperly

you’re right. What a shit world we live in when dogs have more rights than humans.

Nitgel · 25/11/2023 19:57

John lewis full of dogs too, dressed up in a boiling hot shop, people are stupid

Whiteday · 25/11/2023 19:57

@LuckySantangelo35 it's a business proposition, it's life!

No, they don't. The LAW says that my assistance dog goes wherever I do. There's no law that says humans have any right to enter private property.

@Standproperly
@AlwaysGinPlease

op can whine all she wants. Not everyone wants smelly, arse licking animals in a cafe 🤷‍♀️

The cafe owners that allow dogs obviously like them and so do their customers

Jewelspun · 25/11/2023 19:57

7 dogs?!

7 dogs?!

That terrible. I don't blame you for walking out. I only go in when there is at least 12 or more dogs.

More dogs the better.

I have between six and nine dogs and they are better behaved than most children and some adults that I see today!

Our local pub was like doggy daycare last night. It was lovely. 🐶

Sounds perfect. Dogs need to socialise too.

I hope they had an open fire 🔥 for them to all lie in front off!

I Vote with my feet too and won’t go into coffee shops that allow dogs in.

This country is becoming over run with bloody dogs! The solution is to stop treating them like babies and leave them at home.

This, although in quieter areas it's getting harder to do this because the more and more of the few cafes there are allow dogs.

@Elfandwellbeing IMHO one dog inside a cafe is one too many.

Standproperly · 25/11/2023 20:02

I wish dogs were allowed in supermarkets too

That’s great news, thanks for letting us know. I didn’t realise Starbucks allows dogs now. I can meet my dog walking group in there after along walk.

snoopyfanaccountant · 25/11/2023 20:04

I'm allergic to dogs (sorry, it's not a choice I made). I rarely go out for a coffee and when I do I would like to do so in comfort; the last time I went out for coffee, I came out scratching because there had been dogs in the coffee shop.

tillytoodles1 · 25/11/2023 20:05

I love dogs and have no problem with well behaved dogs anywhere.
We went to the lakes last year and we had four dogs with us, and we loved the fact that we could take then everywhere, although a lot of places had dog free dining areas.

Who would have thought the most entrenched, narrow-minded people on MN would be dog lovers? I've never seen such childish responses on a thread.

If you rarely go out for coffee then you are not going to keep cafes in business. Good job there are lots of regular customers who bring their dogs to do that 🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕‍🦺🐾🦴

So for your odd visit to a coffee shop means that the coffee shop should turn away regular dog owners and their dogs.........would you?

Stressedafff · 25/11/2023 20:08

I’ve stopped going into places too. Dog allergy causes issues breathing
