I have quite strong views on prostitution

Not at all about the women, just that I would not want to date a habitual user! Or punter as they're called. And yes this came up recently.

It's the usual male entitlement to not just any woman, but a pretty one.

Why on earth can you not seen that there are prostitutes out there that are prey on vulnerable people?
My friend is one, and I see them out and about with men that have profound learning disabilities. Theses men most likely can not consent at all, because they just don't understand.

@XenoBitch there isn't some threshold of vulnerability or need, after which it's ok for men to buy women. If he is codependent your friend needs therapy. If he thinks he deserves to buy women, he should be advised to stay away from women (and seek more therapy, regarding boundaries and consent). If you think he is a danger to himself, maybe he shouldn't be living independently (and buying women).

He has had therapy since (they said it was a form of self harm), and he now has a great support network around him.

He used them a few times, and had sex with one (his virginity). The rest were company.
